Swedish iGaming studio Play’n GO is making a name for itself in the United States gaming market.
Fresh off partnerships with BetMGM and BetRivers, the company announced its library of online casino titles will be available through PokerStars Online Casino in Pennsylvania. The two companies have existing partnerships in Michigan and New Jersey, and Play’n GO recently earned a license to provide online casino games in the Keystone State.
Magnus Natt och Dag, commercial director of Play’n GO in North America, emphasized responsible, regulated gaming when he commented on the partnership in a recent Play’n GO press release:
“Following our recent licensing approval in Pennsylvania, we eagerly anticipate the launch of our games with PokerStars, our third operator to go live in Pennsylvania. PokerStars share our vision for a safe, regulated iGaming industry, and we’re confident of further success together in the coming months and years.”
Analyzing PokerStars’ role in the PA online casino market
Though PokerStars is widely recognized as an online poker platform, the brand runs online casinos (slots and table games) in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
The company’s PA platform is one of 21 online casinos in the state. Those 21 online casinos consistently produce the most monthly revenue of any of the seven states that offer iGaming.
In March, Pennsylvania online casinos racked up $233.1 million in revenue. That was around $18 million more than Michigan and $36 million more than New Jersey.
PokerStars operates its PA online casino via a license from Mount Airy Casino. It launched in 2019, making it the fifth online casino to launch.
Regarding revenue, Mount Airy and PokerStars are middle of the pack. For example, PA’s March 2024 gaming revenue shows the PokerStars online casino earned around $3 million in slots and table games. Combined with online poker, PokerStars generated $4.3 million in total revenue for Mount Airy.
PokerStars has an eye on keeping customers happy
PokerStars North American Casino Director Brent Rovner believes the expanded partnership with Play’n GO will boost customer retention.
“We are thrilled to launch Play’n GO in Pennsylvania, making their games available in all our active US states,” he said. “We’re confident that our customers will enjoy these games for years to come.”

One week later, the company announced it was expanding its Pennsylvania partnership with BetMGM.
