Play'n Go Secures Connecticut Online Casino License

Swedish slots company Play’n GO has secured a license to operate in the Connecticut online casino market.

The company, which provides online slot games to online casino markets, is now licensed in four states. In addition to Connecticut, it provides online slot titles in New Jersey, Michigan, and West Virginia.

Magnus Olsson, Play’n GO’s chief commercial officer, said the new license is part of the company’s push to be the biggest player in the US online gambling market.

“Gaining further market access to US iGaming States has been an important goal of the company so it’s fantastic to be able to add Connecticut to our US push…Our strategy is to be the best in every regulated market in the world.”

New Connecticut online casino license part of a season of growth

Play’n GO has seen a tremendous amount of expansion over the past 15 months. In April 2022, the company announced its entrance into the North American market with the launch of its titles in Ontario.

In a Q&A about the Ontario launch, Olsson said the company had its sights set on a big North American expansion and it would launch in the US soon.

He commented: “We have strong relationships with operators who are already live in a number of iGaming states, and the volume of requests for Play’n GO titles that we have been receiving has now become simply too loud to ignore.”

And, within the next 11 months, the company launched in four states:

  • New Jersey: November 2022
  • Michigan: December 2022
  • West Virginia: December 2022
  • Connecticut: March 2023

Play’n GO’s philosophy focuses on retention. As such, its games provide the type of graphics, suspense, and action that keeps a player’s attention.

“Online gaming operators in the US are increasingly looking at retention strategies to mitigate against costly acquisition–especially in expensive media markets like the New Jersey, New York and Connecticut tri-state area,” Olsson said.

Play’n GO plans to release more than 50 new online slots titles in 2023

As Play’n GO expands its territory, it plans to launch more than four dozen new online slot titles this year. The company launched eight new games in January alone, including:

  • Pandora’s Box of Evil (March 2)
  • Colt Lightning (February 16)
  • Legion Gold (February 9)
  • Legacy of Inca (February 2)
  • Game of Gladiators Uprising (January 26)

While cash versions of the games are only allowed in four states, free versions of the game are available on the Play’n GO website.
