Game of Thrones online slot is no longer the only game inspired by the HBO series hit in the world of gambling.
Scientific Games has signed a multi-year agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment to bring HBO’s popular brand to online and retail lottery games.
The expanded partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery features limited worldwide rights to the iconic brand. As part of this exclusive new deal, Scientific Games will produce player experiences themed on the HBO show in the form of:
- Instant scratch games
- Fast play games
- Digital lottery games
Both Game of Thrones online and retail game designs from Scientific Games are immediately available to US and international lotteries.
Scientific Games provides retail and digital games, technologies, analytics and services to 130 lotteries in 50 countries, including almost every North American lottery.
Game of Thrones has the potential to bring its massive fanbase to the lottery
Last year, licensed branded games created by Scientific Games for US lotteries represented $2.7 billion in retail sales.
Therefore, Scientific Games expects the game to succeed due to the popularity of the HBO series. The show has also ranked highly on the Power Index out of other branded titles available for lottery game development.
Kyle Rogers, Vice President of North American Instant Products for Scientific Games, said in the company’s news release:
“Our global teams are ecstatic to add a powerful brand GAME OF THRONES to our licensed properties portfolio. GAME OF THRONES is already a proven property in the gaming and social gaming sectors. There is so much iconography associated with the TV series that it works creatively with our omnichannel lottery games.
Although it appeals to a younger generation of players, multi-generations of viewers watched GAME OF THRONES around the world, so it has the potential to bring its massive fanbase and social media following to lottery.”
Rogers indicated that the insights from Scientific Games research support Game of Thrones as a right-fit brand for the company’s next blockbuster lottery Linked Games, which will be announced soon.
Produced in 2007, Linked Games have generated nearly $4.8 billion in retail sales and more than 3,000 winners.
Warner Bros. is on its way to expanding its OpenGaming portfolio
Warner Bros. Discovery has recently partnered with Light & Wonder to bring online casino games to its platform, starting with Willy Wonka World Of Wonka. The company described the agreement as “the next phase of L&W’s omnichannel content strategy.”
The company continues to form collaborations, like its partnership with Bang Bang Games, designed to expand its OpenGaming platform for online casino content.
