If you haven’t heard of the Luck of the Dragon, then you might want to head to Seminole Coconut Creek Casino.

The Florida casino has become ground zero for million-dollar jackpots from Dragon Link, a progressive slots title from Aristocrat Gaming that has surrendered a pair of $1 million jackpots in less than a week.

The casino announced this week that a customer hit a $1,029,005 Dragon Link jackpot on July 21. That was just six days after someone won a $1,439,111 prize from the same game on July 15.

$1 Million Dragon Link wins becoming a Florida tradition

Aristocrat and the Seminole Tribe of Florida have installed Dragon Link slot machines at multiple casinos across the Sunshine State, including Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, and Coconut Creek.

Each property has seen its share of $1 million jackpots:

  • Coconut Creek: In the past 16 months, the casino has announced four jackpot winners, including a pair of winners who took home big jackpots on $25 bets.
  • Hollywood: Dragon Link has surrendered at least three jackpots, with two lucky players winning  $1 million prizes in June.
  • Tampa: While there have been multiple Dragon Link jackpots won over the past two years, none were more astonishing than the pair of $1 million prizes a gambler named Gloria won in 18 days.

How Seminole tribal casinos became a Dragon Link destination

Seminole Gaming partnered with Aristocrat in 2020 to bring Dragon Link terminals to its tribal casinos. At the time, the game did not offer progressive jackpots.

In short, progressive slots build massive jackpots by linking multiple slot machines (in this case, Dragon Link terminals) and raising the jackpot each time someone plays a linked machine.

Progressive jackpots can draw more business to a particular slot machine title. It’s likely that played a role in Aristocrat and Seminole Gaming’s decision to launch Dragon Link progressive jackpots in 2021.

At the time, there were more than 220 Dragon Link terminals at Seminole properties, with many offering mid- to high-denomination bets. Jon Hanlin, an Aristocrat senior vice president, said in a 2021 Seminole Hard Rock press release.

“As it has been with all Dragon Link games, player reception to the high-denom and mid-denom Dragon Link games has been overwhelmingly positive. Given that incredible player reception, Seminole Gaming approached us with player feedback, and we worked together to turn on the $1 million jackpot functionality in response.”

Dragon-themed slot game is living up to its intended purpose

Dragon Link’s growth hearkens back to its creation in 2017. At that time, Aristocrat developed the game as a level-up of another popular title at the time, Lightning Link.

“With Dragon Link, we took the very best parts of Lightning Link and the very best parts of what we do well at Aristocrat, and created an experience that players are going to love,” Hanlin said in a Globe Newswire press release.
