Unibet Sportsbook is a big deal in overseas markets. The team behind the scenes is aiming to make the same thing happen here in the US. So far, so good on that front as Unibet is now available in four states and counting.
In both its online sportsbook and app, Unibet is pretty basic. For those who like the frills of DraftKings or FanDuel, you won’t find them here. Those just looking for a clean place to play will be more than happy.
Unibet features a range of sports to bet on and plenty of types of bets, as well as a great live betting section. New players can get a risk-free bet of up to $600 just for trying the sportsbook out.
Unibet has a solid welcome bonus. To gain access, create an account and enter the code BETBONUS when prompted.
|Online Sportsbook||Unibet Sportsbook|
|Unibet Bonus Code||BETBONUS|
|Sign Up Bonus||Up to $600 risk free bet|
|Legal States||VA, NJ, PA & IN|
|Last Updated||August 2021|
When you sign up at Unibet, you can qualify for the risk-free bet and activate it for as little as a $10 spot by doing the following:
The welcome offer’s maximum is $600, and you need to deposit at least $10 to be eligible. Next, start taking a look around and find something you want to bet on and place your first bet. The offer is good only for your first bet, so keep that in mind.
If the bet wins, that’s awesome; but if it loses, you have a safety net. In the event of a loss, you’ll receive a refund for the amount of your first bet, up to $600. For New Jersey and Virginia bettors, it’s straight cash back that you can withdraw or keep on site.
Pennsylvania and Indiana bettors get it back in bonus credits. The credits can take up to 72 hours to hit your account, but they’re usually much quicker than that. They come with a 1x playthrough requirement, but any winnings are yours to keep right away.
As a quick example, if you make a deposit of $100 and use that for your risk-free bet, you’ll get that amount back in site credits if the bet loses. From there, just play through the credits one time to clear the bonus.
When you want to try out a new site, it’s always good to have some insurance on your side. Unibet does that for new players with a simple offer that’s easy to clear and good for up to $600 with a small minimum requirement of just $10.
Unibet keeps on giving even after you’ve signed up. There’s a link labeled “promos” that outlines all of the current offerings. When we gave Unibet a test drive, we found the following promo options:
On the main site, there’s also a link for odds boosts right in the same section as popular and featured sports. When we clicked on it, there were four boosts for MLB futures bets, but what’s available changes regularly.
Overall, Unibet does a nice job with boosts and other promos. While similar to what you’ll find at other books overall, it keeps things rolling all week long with regular offerings.
While Unibet is a new player on the US sports betting scene, there’s plenty of experience behind the scenes. This is a top overseas sportsbook that’s aiming to become the same on our shores. Available in four states to date with more to come, here’s a look at Unibet’s presence in a pair of big markets.
Legal sports betting went live in Virginia in January 2021. The Virginia Lottery issued a license to Unibet in April. Virginia is one of a few states that doesn’t require sportsbooks to have a land-based partner. Unibet was the seventh book to launch in what shapes up to be a competitive market. It offers a good number of sports to bet on, as well as lots of types of bets to choose from.
In Virginia, betting on in-state college teams is a no-no, and there’s no live betting on college sports. Outside of that, you’ll find all of the top sports available for wagering, as well as a decent selection of niche sports.
While there are no pro teams that currently make their home in the state, the Washington Football Team has its headquarters in Ashburn. The team has also been long-rumored to have its eyes on Northern Virginia for a future stadium.
DraftKings and FanDuel were first out of the gate in VA, so there’s some catching up to do. However, it’s a solid market for sports in general and legal betting will only help. Unibet is a great alternative for those looking for something different from the big dogs.
Pennsylvania was the second legal market for Unibet. It launched in November 2019, just two months after making its debut in neighboring New Jersey, via a deal with Mohegan Sun Pocono Resort, a casino that is also home to a retail Unibet book.
Legal sports betting received a green light in Pennsylvania in 2018, but the online sportsbook and sportsbook app launch didn’t happen until the following May. Unibet entered what was already becoming a crowded market, and even more books have joined the party since then.
As has been the case in other states, industry giants like DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM are the major players, with the remaining books jockeying for position. Unibet continues to work toward gaining traction.
The company is an official sportsbook partner of the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that’s a top draw in an outstanding market for sports. You can bet on all of the local favorites and much more at Unibet, including on in-state college teams.
Pennsylvania bettors can play on Unibet online or via an app for iOS or Android devices. The sign-up process is quick and easy, and you can complete it remotely without the need to visit a retail Unibet sportsbook unless you want to.
Unibet Sportsbook made its US debut with a launch in New Jersey in 2019, and has followed that up with entry into another three big markets. Here’s where you can legally and safely play on Unibet for now:
|State||Bet Now||Partner||Launch Date|
|New Jersey||Hard Rock Casino||September 2019|
|Pennsylvania||Mohegan Sun Pocono Resort||November 2019|
|Indiana||Caesars Horseshoe Hammond||July 2020|
You can bet on sports in all of the above markets, but keep in mind that states may have their own individual rules. While NJ won’t let you bet on in-state college teams, neighboring PA will. Click on our state links for the rules in your market.
To start with, head to the Unibet registration page. Just click on the button that says “join now” to proceed. All told, there are three steps to complete. To start, you’ll enter and confirm your email address and do the same for a password of your choice.
Next, it’s time for more specific details. It’s all standard procedure as Unibet has to verify your identity. You’ll need to enter the following:
For the last step, you’ll enter your full address and mobile number, and choose two security questions. In the box marked “bonus code,” enter the phrase BETBONUS to qualify for the risk-free bet.
You’ll check off some boxes — accept terms and conditions, verify age, etc. — and then click join. Unibet will create your account instantly. You can start browsing around and check the latest odds.
You can use Unibet Sportsbook on your phone. Apps are available for both Apple and Android products. You’ll find basically the same experience on your mobile device as you would online. Downloading the apps to take Unibet on the go is super simple:
In our test, the downloads were a breeze. After you log in on your device for the first time, you’ll have Unibet at your fingertips whenever you need it. The app itself is very smooth and functional, but also relatively bare-bones compared to some competitors.
As for whether you’ll like it, it really comes down to personal preference. For a clean and efficient place to bet and take care of business, it does just fine. If you’re looking for lots of flash and noise, it’s not here.
One final note on the apps: You’ll need to be within state lines to place bets, but you can manage your account from elsewhere. Just like other books, Unibet uses geolocation tracking to verify your location for betting purposes.
Unibet has most everything covered for sports bettors. If you stick to big sports like the NFL, PGA and UFC, it’s all right here. Bettors who like smaller sports like rugby and table tennis will also have a lot of options.
In comparison to other books, there are fewer of the niche sports available at Unibet. All of the most popular smaller sports are available, but some books go a little deeper with things like lacrosse.
Unless you really need every sport imaginable, it’s far from a game-changer. On the main site, the left menu is divided into a section for popular sports with all of the available options right below that. There are also direct links for live events and those that are coming up soon. On the app, you’ll see the same, just in drop-down menu form. Once you click on the sport you want, the upcoming contests will pop up in the main window.
Placing a bet is as simple as clicking on the odds for your choice, adding in an amount you want to bet on the slip and clicking submit.
Unibet has all the bets covered. From standard bets like moneylines, spreads and totals to parlays and props, it’s all here. Featured game listings have the odds for all of the main bets for that sport, and more odds once you click through.
Using the NBA, a league for which Unibet is an authorized gambling operator, as an example, there’s a “more wagers” link inside of the main listing. Once you click on that, you can check out the additional bets for the game, which Unibet breaks down into categories.
Under the most popular section, you’ll find a list of alternative spreads and props with the odds adjusted accordingly. All sportsbooks offer variations of the main line, but Unibet does a nice job of listing all of the available options.
Unibet also has a dedicated section for live betting on the web, and keeps it front and center on the app, as well. The “live right now” feature lists all of the current options for real time betting in a very clean and efficient manner.
There are plenty of options for getting cash in and out of your Unibet account. The methods you can use do vary by state, so let’s take a look at how you can deposit in the states where the sportsbook is available.
|New Jersey||Online bank transfer, credit or debit card, PayNearMe, PayPal, e-check, Play+, cash at cage|
|Pennsylvania||Online bank transfer, credit or debit card, PayNearMe, PayPal, e-check, Play+, cash at cage|
|Indiana||Online bank transfer, credit or debit card, PayNearMe, PayPal, e-check, Play+|
|Virginia||Online bank transfer, credit or debit card, PayNearMe, PayPal, e-check, Play+|
The same options are available in all states with the exception of cash at the cage. We’ll look at where you can do that in a sec. Some deposit methods, such as PayNearMe, won’t work for withdrawals. If you deposit with that, you’ll need another way to get money out of your account.
Processing times for withdrawals can take up to a day or two, but that’s the worst case. In general, it goes pretty quick. The amount of time it takes for you to get the cash back depends on the withdrawal method you use.
Cash at the cage of a partner casino is available in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Here are the locations where you can fund your Unibet account in person:
Unibet has a detailed FAQ section with plenty of info tucked inside. You can answer many common queries by clicking on the “support” link and browsing through the available topics. There’s also a search feature so you can drill down into what you want.
If you need an answer that goes deeper than that, Unibet has a trio of options: phone, email and live chat. Customer service is available seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. You can access phone and chat support during these hours.
For chat, you can click on the direct link and enter your name and the nature of your question. You’ll go in line from there and receive assistance from the next available rep. For us, we were chatting with someone in less than a minute.
To date, there are just a pair of retail Unibet locations, both of which are in Pennsylvania. The book is available in New Jersey via the license of Hard Rock in Atlantic City, while its Indiana partner is Caesars Horseshoe Hammond. Both of those casinos have sportsbooks that other companies operate. Over in Virginia, sportsbooks get their license from the lottery with no requirement for a land-based partner. Here’s where you can check out Unibet in person.

While Unibet is a new player on the scene in the US, the company has been around the block several times. Its roots go back to a 1997 launch in Europe. Unibet now offers at least some form of gambling in over 100 countries.
Unibet’s first entry into the US came in New Jersey in September 2019, followed by a release in Pennsylvania just a couple of months later. Customers in both states have online and app access to the company’s sportsbook and casino offerings.
The sportsbook then launched in Indiana in 2020, followed by its debut in Virginia in 2021. Looking ahead, it has its sights set on other major legal US sports betting markets such as Colorado, Illinois, Michigan and Tennessee.
Unibet has a small slice of market share in the states it has entered to date, but it has taken steps to grow its presence. The company has strategic partnerships in place with the Philadelphia Eagles and New Jersey Devils, as well as the NBA and NASCAR.
Sports betting in legal states is very competitive. Several of the bigger names have been dominating the top of the charts. Unibet falls into the category of those attempting to slowly climb up the leaderboard.
Unibet also offers online casino gambling in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Both sides share the wallet, so you can easily go back and forth to play whenever you like. Unibet has a big presence in overseas markets, so it’s safe to say that further expansion in the US is on the to-do list.
When judging a sportsbook, it’s important to consider how it stacks up to competitors. We always have our sights set on that. Unibet hits the right notes in several ways. The interface is clean and easy to use. There’s a good selection of sports and bets, as well as funding and support options to choose from. You won’t have to do a ton of unnecessary clicking to find what you want.
On the downside, a simple platform that lets you get right down to business comes at the expense of lots of extra features. If that’s not your thing, you won’t miss it at all, but bettors who like a little more sizzle may find the app and site disappointing.
As for usability, Unibet works great on both its website and app. We didn’t come across any annoying bugs or hiccups during our tests, and everything loaded quickly. From an efficiency standpoint, Unibet is right in line with big sportsbooks like DraftKings and FanDuel.
Among the positives are the simple approach to live betting. This is where the lack of extras becomes really appealing. While some shops have cluttered live betting sections that always seem to be jumping around, you won’t find that issue here.
