Where To Bet On The Super Bowl In West Virginia

Written By Bart Shirley on January 24, 2019

Super Bowl betting time is upon us once again. Since this year is West Virginia‘s first with sports betting, here are West Virginia’s sportsbook locations, where WV residents and visitors can bet on the big game.

Just to review, this year’s clash will pit the Los Angeles Rams against the New England Patriots. The two will meet on Feb. 3 at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Mobile West Virginia betting options

West Virginia is one of only a few states to offer statewide WV sports betting online. BetLucky, a mobile sportsbook operated by Delaware North and Miomni, launched on Dec. 27, 2018.

BetLucky is available for both iOS and Android device users. Users can register an account anywhere, but can only deposit, withdraw and play inside West Virginia’s borders.

BetLucky’s list of features and sports is not as robust as other sites or brick-and-mortar sportsbooks. However, football is one of its inclusions, so Super Bowl wagering is likely already in full swing.

Retail locations to bet on the 2019 Super Bowl

If a physical sportsbook is more appealing, West Virginia has several retail options to accept Super Bowl wagers. In fact, West Virginia is home to five different sportsbooks. They are:

  • The Sportsbook at Hollywood Casino Charles Town
  • FanDuel Sportsbook at the Greenbrier Resort
  • The Mountaineer Hotel and Casino
  • Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack
  • Mardi Gras Casino

The Hollywood Casino sportsbook was the first in the state to open. It did so back in late August 2018.

The other four properties slowly joined the party over the next few months. The last two, Wheeling Island and Mardi Gras, both opened their venues in December 2018.

Where to watch the Super Bowl in West Virginia

Expect all five locations to have various celebrations for the big game. Perhaps the most extensive of preparations is occurring at Hollywood Casino, however.

The casino is taking reservations for tables in the sportsbook on Super Bowl Sunday. Renting a table costs $400, but comes with a bucket of beer, buffet access and a private betting window to avoid the lines.

The Greenbrier is also throwing a special bash for the last football game of the season. The casino, normally closed to the public, will open its doors for everyone on Super Bowl day. Guests can book a room at a special rate of $99 if they wish.

Guests at Wheeling Island will find a similar room rate offer if they wager at least $10 on the game. They will also receive a free BetLucky T-shirt.

So, no matter where one chooses to visit, they will find a very special day at each property. Of course, with BetLucky, there may be no comfier venue than laying on the couch at home.
