When it comes to shopping for the best pari-mutuel pools on horse races, Illinoisans are spoiled for choice. That spoiling has become even more robust with the debut of Caesars Racebook.
While Caesars Racebook has gotten off to a late start in Illinois, it is offering bettors a launch bonus to try and catch up. Additionally, Caesars Racebook has one feature that its competitors can’t boast.
Caesars Racebook adds Illinois to its list
After making West Virginia its 20th state in November 2023, Illinois is now No. 21 for Caesars Racebook.
Within the conditions listed in the above social media post, Illinois horse bettors can try to double their money on the app. Caesars Racebook offers apps on Android and iOS devices plus a website for those who prefer to use their computers.
Illinoisans who are using the Caesars Sportsbook app should note that Caesars Racebook is a separate app.
Caesars Racebook is a collaboration between Caesars Entertainment and the New York Horse Racing Association (NYRA). Illinoisans have already had access to the NYRA’s pari-mutuel wagering services, however.
That’s just one of several options for residents of the Prairie State.
Robust field for horse betting in Illinois
NYRA Bets is just one of several online racebooks accepting entries from bettors in Illinois. Including Caesars Racebook now, the rest of the field includes:

- Twinspires
Among prominent national online racebooks, only two brands have yet to make themselves available in Illinois. Those are BetMGM Horse Racing and DK Horse.
At this time, it’s unclear whether and if so, how soon either of those companies plan to expand to Illinois.
While most of Caesars Racebook’s online horse betting options like handicapping data and live race streaming are quite standard, there is one component that Caesars Racebook alone offers. For some Illinoisans, that could translate into other experiences.
Illinoisans have another way to earn rewards
Caesars Racebook is fully integrated into Caesars Rewards. For every $3 that users risk on pari-mutuel pools in the app, they earn one Caesars Rewards credit. Those credits can be used to place bets in either the Caesars Racebook or Caesars Sportsbook apps in Illinois.
The potential rewards are not limited to digital redemption, however. Caesars operates three physical casinos in Illinois where members can use their rewards credits on a variety of experiences and goods. Those properties are:
- Grand Victoria Casino Elgin
- Harrah’s Joliet
- Harrah’s Metropolis
Options for redemption at those properties include bonus play on gaming options. Furthermore, comped dining, hotel stays, spa visits, and tickets to live entertainment round out the choices.
While Caesars Racebook is not the only horse race betting app to offer a rewards program, Caesars Rewards may have extra appeal for those who frequent Caesars’ properties in Illinois.
