ANNEX A – COOKIE POLICY
We use Cookies
To remember your preferences, provide you with a complete range of functions on our website, and make our website more enjoyable and convenient to use, we use “cookies.”
What are Cookies?
When you visit the website, a small file or information known as a cookie, pixel or similar technology is saved on your computer or device. This means the website can remember your preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display settings) and actions over a period of time, so you don’t have to enter them again whenever you return to the site or move from one page to another.
Your options
We will only use non-essential cookies (e.g., analytics, advertising, personalization) if you provide your prior consent. You can adjust or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time through our cookie banner or settings.
If you are a California resident, you may opt out of the use of cookies that result in the “sharing” of your personal information under California law. You can do this via our “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link or by using our cookie preference tool.
In general, you can view our website without cookies, but certain parts may be slower to navigate or may not work properly.
At any time, you can go to the system settings of your browser and delete stored cookies or, if you do not want cookies to be stored on your computer or device, deactivate the relevant option in the system settings of your browser.
More information on how to delete or deactivate cookies is available here: https://www.aboutcookies.org/cookie-faq/. However, please bear in mind that rejecting any cookies may restrict the functionality of our offerings.
Categories of cookies
We use cookies for different purposes and functions. Some cookies are:
Technical necessity
Cookies that are technically:
Necessary: Unless you have set your browser to reject cookies, these cookies are automatically placed on your computer or device when you access the website or a certain function. We use these cookies because they are strictly necessary for the website and its functions to operate properly.
Not necessary: Cookies placed on your computer or device to improve the performance and convenience of our website or retain your settings are not strictly necessary. We also use cookies that are not technically necessary in order to obtain information on how frequently certain areas of our website are used, so that we can adapt to suit your needs and requirements on a more targeted basis.
Storage duration
Session cookies: Some cookies are erased or become invalid as soon as you leave our website or your current session expires. These so-called “session cookies” are only needed for the duration of your website session and are used, for example, to retain certain information during your session.
Permanent cookies: Some cookies are stored for a longer period so you can access webpages faster or with greater convenience, for example so you do not need to set certain options such as your chosen language again. For example, this allows our website to recognize you when you access it again at a later time and access saved settings. As a result, Permanent cookies are automatically deleted after a predefined period.
Flow cookies: These cookies are placed on your computer or device when you start navigating the website and deleted when you leave the website. They are used for communication between internal servers within our company group. Flow cookies do not allow us to make any conclusions about the relevant customer or user, but are given a unique identification number.
Cookie providers
Provider cookies: These are cookies placed by us or the operator of our website, who we have commissioned.
Third-party cookies: Other organizations or websites, for example Web analytics tools, store and use “Third-party cookies”. External providers may also use cookies to show advertising or to integrate social networking content, such as social plugins. Please see below in this cookie policy for more information on Web analytics tools and reach measurement. We may also use lead capture tools, such as OptinMonster, which may place cookies or similar technologies to support registration flows and optimize the experience of pop-ups or embedded sign-up forms. These cookies may store identifiers that help us associate form submissions with user sessions, but are only active where consent has been provided.
Use of cookies for Web analytics and reach measurement
We use Google Analytics, a Web analytics service from Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to identify how frequently certain areas of our website are used and to identify preferences and transmits this information about your use of this website (including your truncated IP address) to a Google server in the United States and stores it there. Google will use this data to analyze your use of the website, create reports on website activity for us, and carry out further services regarding website and Internet usage. Google may also send this information to third parties where required by law or to the extent third parties process these data on behalf of Google.
If you do not want website analysis to be performed, you can deactivate Google Analytics using a browser add-on that you can download here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=. This add-on saves “opt-out” information on your device that can record your deactivation of Google Analytics. Please note that this “opt out” only deactivates Google Analytics for the device and browser you activated it from. You may also need to reactivate it if you delete cookies from your device.
