One of the US’s largest meeting and trade show destinations, Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, unveiled details around its $100 million renovation.
Operated by MGM, the Mandalay Bay Convention Center is the second-largest exhibition venue in Southern Nevada. In yesterday’s release, MGM said the focus is to upgrade the technology capabilities as well as to remodel its 2.1 million-square-foot convention center.
Ernest Stovall, VP of Sales for Mandalay Bay said:
“With Mandalay Bay home to many of the city’s top events and trade shows year after year, we recognized the need to upgrade the space to reflect modern-day needs and create a timeless design complemented by our premier service experience. We listened to feedback from meeting planners over recent years and are confident this refreshed and upgraded space will exceed their needs and expectations in every way.”
What will the $100M Mandalay Bay remodel include?
The remodeling will considerably advance the Mandalay Bay Convention Center’s technology.
Mandalay Bay recently installed an entirely new Cat6A Ethernet cabling. It will double the data transmission frequency and increase the speed up to 9,400%, which equals downloading a 4K movie in 30 seconds.
Planners will now have new ways to communicate with attendees through 11 new dynamic digital walls measuring up to 24′ x 13′. Likewise, 20 double-sided 55″ mobile, flexible display units will be added to help attendees find their meeting rooms and events quickly and conveniently.
Each meeting room door will have radio frequency identification (RFID) locks as added convenience for planners. In addition, all spaces will feature 200+ new motion detection cameras for security purposes.
Once remodeled, the new convention space will feature a “refreshingly bright and vibrant environment complementing Mandalay Bay’s tropical-inspired brand.” Furthermore, the area will reflect contemporary design elements as well as “brighter lighting, streamlined signage and inviting seating nooks.”
Since MGM Resorts is committed to providing a platform for diverse and understated artists by summer 2023. What’s more, the complete redesign of STRIPSTEAK is scheduled to debut in early 2023.
