State of Play’s TL;DR

  • A new RG.org comparison of sweepstakes casino coin stores found that bigger or badged bundles do not always deliver better value.
  • Some higher-priced packs returned fewer Sweepstakes Coins per dollar.

Bigger sweepstakes casino coin packs do not always mean better value.

RG.org says store captures taken on Oct. 20 found several operators offering higher-priced or badged bundles that returned fewer Sweepstakes Coins per dollar than smaller alternatives.

RG.org reviewed coin-store packages across multiple sweepstakes casino brands and compared them by Sweepstakes Coins, or SC, per dollar. The report, published Oct. 21, points to bonus caps, duplicate price points, badge language, and differing mixes of SC and Gold Coins as reasons shoppers can get less value by spending more.

Bonus caps and badges can make pricier bundles worse deals

One of RG.org’s clearest examples came from Casinio. The site said a 200% Free Gift applies up to $399.99, where the return works out to 3.00 SC per dollar. Above that level, the Free Gift is capped at 1,000 SC, causing the SC-per-dollar rate to fall. RG.org said two purchases at $399.99 would return 2,400 SC for $799.98, or 600 SC more than a single $799.99 pack.

At Sweep Las Vegas, RG.org found welcome packages paying 2.50 SC per dollar, including 30 SC for $14.90 and 60 SC for $29.90. But several tiers labeled “Best Value” fell below that mark. The report highlighted an unbadged $65 pack returning 1.54 SC per dollar, better than badged offers such as $139 for 200 SC, $33.75 for 45 SC, and $59 for 75 SC.

FunzCity also drew scrutiny for three tiles labeled “300% Extra Coins.” RG.org said those offers worked out to 100% extra value per dollar, not 300%.

Duplicate prices and uneven coin mixes add another wrinkle

RG.org also flagged stores where the same price appeared more than once with different returns. At Jackpota, two $29.99 bundles listed different amounts, including one with 67 SC and 135,000 GC and another with 30 SC and 60,000 GC. Two $19.99 tiers also differed, with one “Special Offer” giving 40 SC and 80,000 GC and another standard tile giving 20 SC and 40,000 GC.

CrashDuel showed a similar issue at $19.80. RG.org said two promotional bundles doubled SC but included only 2,000 GC, while the standard $19.80 pack paid 75,000 GC and 20 SC.

The report added that Lonestar, RealPrize, and Jackpota each had entry tiers with no SC at all. At FireSevens, RG.org found that a $64.99 pack with 65 SC and 650,000 GC and a $99.99 pack with 100 SC and 500,000 GC carried the same SC rate, even though the pricier offer included 150,000 fewer Gold Coins.

RG.org said the figures were captured from operator coin stores on Oct. 20 and that packages can rotate. The outlet said personal or account-specific offers were excluded and that it plans to track these pricing ladders monthly in a Sweeps Value Index.
