On Aug. 3, Bally’s Corp. announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Sam’s Town Shreveport from Boyd Gaming.
This deal marks another milestone in the company’s expansion of its regional gaming and entertainment portfolio —which spans both land-based destinations and digital gaming products like Bally’s Online Casino— and its continued investment in Louisiana. Furthermore, it reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to the Shreveport-Bossier market.
Soo Kim highlights regulatory approval and regional growth
“Today’s closing marks an important milestone for Bally’s as we continue to expand our presence in key regional markets and invest in destinations with strong long-term potential,” said Soo Kim, chairman of Bally’s Corporation.
“We appreciate Boyd Gaming’s partnership and professionalism throughout this process and thank the Louisiana Gaming Control Board for its thoughtful review and approval of the transaction.
We look forward to welcoming the Sam’s Town Shreveport team to Bally’s and working closely with regulators, local leaders and employees to ensure a smooth transition. Louisiana is an important market for our company, and we are excited about the opportunities ahead,” Soo Kim added.
Curtis Jackson outlines future community collaboration
Entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who has made significant investments in Shreveport’s entertainment district, welcomed the completion of the acquisition and expressed enthusiasm about future collaborations.
“I’m excited for Bally’s expansion in Shreveport as we continue investing in the city’s future. Together, we have an opportunity to create new entertainment, dining and retail experiences that attract visitors, support local businesses and contribute to Shreveport’s continued growth,” Jackson said.
“I look forward to working with Bally’s to help build something that benefits the community for years to come.”
Property specs and plans for downtown integration
This transaction strengthens Bally’s (NYSE: BALY) footprint in the local market, where it already owns and operates the neighboring Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel on Clyde Fant Parkway, as well as Bally’s Baton Rouge further south.
The newly acquired complex features a 29,000-square-foot casino floor with 750 slot machines and 14 table games, along with a 514-room hotel tower, multiple dining venues, live entertainment, and convention spaces.
Because Sam’s Town is situated directly adjacent to Bally’s existing downtown Shreveport flagship, the proximity allows the operator to significantly streamline regional operations and shared amenities. According to official disclosures on Business Wire, the venue will be rebranded under the Bally’s name over time.
The company is evaluating potential enhancements to the facility’s entertainment and retail spaces while focusing on a smooth transition for team members and guests, as reported by StockTitan.
