As Missouri prepares to launch sports betting on Dec. 1, BetMGM is opening pre-registration for new users starting today, Nov. 17, and getting ready to accept deposits once the market goes live. The well-known sportsbook is one of eight online sportsbooks licensed to go live in the Show Me State.
BetMGM hasn’t made any official announcements about its promotional offers. However, it’s almost certain the operator will provide new users with at least two promos, as it does in other states.

If BetMGM gives new users in Missouri the same promos it offers in other states, it’s likely the following will be available:
- $1,500 safety-net bet: Select the safety-net bet promotion when you place your first wager through the BetMGM app. If your first bet loses, BetMGM will issue bonus bets equal to the amount you lost, up to $1,500.
- $100 bonus bets: New BetMGM users who deposit before Dec. 1 will get the $100 bonus bets. The minimum deposit is $10.
These offers are available in multiple markets nationwide, so it’s possible that BetMGM will also roll them out in Missouri. The $1,500 safety-net bet is more likely, as it’s offered in 16 states and Washington, D.C., while the $100 bonus bets is just for Missouri.
Key rules and licensing info for Missouri sports betting
The application window for Missouri sports betting licenses opened earlier this year. Licenses were split into four groups:
- Tethered mobile licenses: These require the sportsbook operators to partner with a Missouri casino or professional sports team. Eight operators — including BetMGM — have received temporary approval to launch on Dec. 1.
- Untethered mobile licenses: DraftKings and Circa Sports earned Missouri’s two untethered licenses, which do not require a partnership with a casino or pro team.
- Retail licenses: These are issued to operators of land-based casinos in the state.
On Dec. 1, eight mobile operators are slated to launch along with eight retail operators, though not all retail locations are guaranteed to open on launch day. Bettors must be at least 21 and physically located in Missouri to place a wager with state-licensed sportsbooks.
