Missouri has been keeping sports fans on their toes all year as everyone waits for legal sports betting to finally land on Dec. 1.

The apps are already teasing pre-registration bonuses in Missouri. And since every fan needs a reliable place to eat, yell, drink, and celebrate, now is the perfect time to lock in your home base for game day.

In no particular order, here are the top Missouri sports bars that bring the screens, the energy, the food, and the kind of atmosphere that makes strangers act like cousins during a close fourth quarter.

1. Social

Where: 7425 Broadway St, Kansas City, MO 64114

If you listen to the people who crunch numbers for a living, they say Social is one of the best sports bars in America. It’s the kind of place you walk into on a Sunday and instantly know you made the right choice. The place absolutely explodes on big game days — Super Bowl Sunday here feels like stepping inside a documentary about wild fans. There are screens everywhere, and the crowd reacts like they own stock in the team. Drinks move fast. Food lands on tables nonstop.

2. Chappell’s Restaurant & Sports Museum

Where: 323 Armour Rd, North Kansas City, MO 64116

Chappell’s is half restaurant and half sports museum — which sounds dramatic, but it is absolutely true. Every wall is covered in sports memorabilia. It feels like the kind of place where a retired coach might walk in and start telling stories.  Sports Illustrated once named it one of the 25 best sports bars in the entire country, and USA Today placed it in the top 10. The crowd tends to be calmer than some of the rowdier spots, making it perfect if you want to enjoy the game without someone spilling beer on you. They’re open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays.

3. Amsterdam Tavern

Where: 3175 Morganford Rd, St. Louis, MO 63116

St. Louis soccer fans consider Amsterdam Tavern a second home.  It has indoor and outdoor seating, and the energy feels like a Premier League watch party even on random weekdays. They don’t serve food, but you can order from The Dam next door.  Dog lovers also adore it because dogs are welcome.

4. Granfalloon

Where: 608 Ward Pkwy, Kansas City, MO 64112

Feast Magazine featured Granfalloon as one of the best Kansas City sports bars. Screens are placed everywhere, meaning you can sit in literally any seat and still see the game. The menu includes the usual burgers but also cheesecake, hummus, gyros, and other slightly more elevated dishes. Hours run late, with the bar staying open until 3 a.m. on some nights.  According to Laura Rogers, who gave it a five-star rating two months ago, it’s an “excellent sports bar. Attentive and friendly wait staff. Six TVs to watch the game. Great food. Very nice place with a fun vibe.”

5. Johnny’s Tavern

Where: 15249 NW Brink Meyer Rd, Parkville, MO 64153

The Parkville location carries one of the highest ratings among all Johnny’s Tavern spots in the region. They keep the bar open until 1:30 a.m. every night. This spot delivers that classic American sports bar feel: cold beer, good food, games on every screen and locals who come here religiously.

6. Lew’s Bar & Grill

Where: 7539 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64114

If you’ve never seen someone drink an 84-ounce beer from a boot-shaped glass, Lew’s is the place to fix that. This bar has been a Kansas City favorite for as long as people can remember. They serve food until 2 a.m. and stay open until 3 a.m., meaning you’ll never leave hungry.

7. Harpo’s

Where: 4109 Pennsylvania Ave, Kansas City, MO 64111

If you see a sea of black and gold inside Harpo’s, do not panic — it’s essentially the unofficial home for Mizzou fans. The place is lively but not obnoxious, and reviewers constantly rave about the food. It has that classic big game day feeling where strangers will loudly high-five you like you’ve known each other for years.

8. The Post Sports Bar & Grill

Where: 6472 Ronald Reagan Dr, Lake Saint Louis, MO 63367

The Post is the kind of bar where you walk in thinking you’ll have one drink, and suddenly you are eating wings and yelling at a referee like the team can hear you. Expect cold beer, big screens, loud fans and solid bar food. Nothing too fancy — which is exactly why people love it. One reviewer, Debbiewrote on Yelp: “I think this is a great place to watch sports, enjoy a beverage, and eat some bar food. It isn’t the place to go out just to enjoy a great meal.”

9. Tower Tavern

Where: 401 E 31st St, Kansas City, MO 64108

Tower Tavern sits in Martini Corner — a cute name for a neighborhood basically built for sports people. It’s been around since 2007, and it feels like the kind of place where you can watch three games at once without moving your neck. For cozy watch parties or a big group gatherings, they have private rooms available.

10. The Peanut

Where: 5000 Main St, Kansas City, MO 64112

The Peanut might be the oldest bar and grill in Kansas City. It first operated as a speakeasy during Prohibition, and now it draws crowds for its jumbo wings and loyal sports following.

Sports betting meets game night: pre-registration deals

Once Missouri sports betting officially goes live, these bars will become prime real estate. Good screens, loud fans, and cheap beer are the holy trinity of game nights.  December might end up feeling like a mini holiday all on its own.

And if you’re thinking about placing a few bets while you watch, here are major sportsbooks preparing to launch in Missouri — along with their pre-registration promos:

  • Fanatics Sportsbook — Pre-register and deposit $50 to get 15 “no-sweat” bets worth up to $200 each. That’s up to $3,000 back in FanCash if they lose. On launch day, you can also choose to bet $30 and get $300 in FanCash.
  • BetMGM — A two-part deal: pre-register and deposit $10 to get $100 in bonus bets, and once betting goes live, your first bet is insured up to $1,500.
  • FanDuel — Offering up to $500 in bonus bets: $100 for signing up early, plus another $300 when you place a qualifying $5 bet after launch.
  • DraftKings — Pre-register to receive $300 in bonus bets on launch day.
  • bet365 — A “bet $10, get $365” in bonus bets once betting goes live.
  • Caesars Sportsbook — Wager $5 after launch, and if it wins, you get $150 in bonus bets. During pre-registration, they’re also offering five 100% profit boosts.

So, when you’re planning that bar or game-day hangout, know that you’re not just picking a place to watch and yell — you’re also choosing the launchpad for the first bets you’ll make once the apps open.
