World Series of Poker players can finally get an empire state of mind as they play. A new Turning Stone WSOP event has brought the iconic series to the Empire State for the first time ever. That means a new contingent of players has chances at a ring.

The Lounge with Caesars Sports is the site of the action for the next 12 days. Registration begins today, and the opportunities to take home over a million dollars in prizes are plentiful.

Turning Stone WSOP event makes history for New York

This year, the World Series of Poker selected fewer than 15 venues across the world to host one of its satellite events. Turning Stone Casino Resort, which the Oneida Nation operates in Verona, is one of those select few.

“During my previous World Series of Poker event, I usually get a dozen questions about the next event, but we’ve had hundreds of players specifically ask about the event here at Turning Stone,” said Dennis Jones, World Series of Poker Tournament Director, in a press release.

“From the moment I pulled into the resort, I was truly amazed by the beauty of the property; from the restaurants to the hotels, I know the players are going to be excited to be here at Turning Stone.”

With registration at the Lounge with Caesars Sports now open, the action is on through March 28. The format is a $25K Gtd. No Limit Holdem tournament. A daily schedule is available on Turning Stone’s website.

Buy-ins for games range from $80 to $1,700. Fifteen rings are up for grabs, and there are games just for players of at least 50 years of age. The hotel at the resort is offering special rates for players as well.

Besides the cash and the rings, the action promises the opportunity to be a part of history in New York. It’s also the only opportunity to participate in a satellite event in the northeast part of the US this year.

For Turning Stone, this is a huge marketing opportunity. The selection of the venue and the notoriety of the WSOP can put the casino on the map for new guests.

“For the next 12 days, Central New York will be the capital of poker in America,” said Guy Renzi, Vice President of Gaming for Oneida Nation Enterprises, in the same release.

“When people hear World Series of Poker, they know it’s going to be a massive tournament, huge guarantees, and exciting action, and when you couple that with Turning Stone’s impeccable reputation for guest service and providing exceptional guest experiences, you know this is going to be a March to remember.”

Some skilled New Yorkers are about to add a coveted WSOP ring to their gambling accolades. As Frank Sinatra sang, if they can make it there, they’ll make it anywhere.
