Pragmatic Play’s popular slot The Dog House just got a sequel, and it’s now available as a limited-time exclusive at McLuck Sweepstakes Casino!

The Dog House: Royal Hunt can’t be found for sweepstakes play anywhere but McLuck for the time being, though if it’s as popular as its predecessor, it’s likely to be picked up elsewhere once the exclusivity period is over.

The game’s cadre of canines gets the royal treatment in this follow-up, complete with crowns and posh British attire! It’s definitely cute, but the gameplay is almost the same as you’re used to from the original, just with one important twist.

Back in the Dog House for a Second Time

The Dog House: Royal Hunt is relatively straightforward, as slot games go. The five-by-three reel array will feel familiar to veteran slot fans and welcoming to newbies. The high volatility means the game tends toward larger wins with low frequency; keep that in mind before you play.

The wild symbol is a dog house (hey, that’s in the name of the game!), and it only appears on the middle three reels. Wilds on the same reel all have a random multiplier of 2x or 3x, which applies to any win including that symbol.

A free spins bonus highlights The Dog House: Royal Hunt. There are two versions: standard Free Spins and Royal Free Spins.

Free Spins can be triggered in the base game by landing three bonus symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5. The bonus launches by opening a three-by-three grid, which will spin to reveal free spins in each spot. Spots can have 1, 2, or 3 free spins each for a minimum of nine free spins and a maximum of 27. The random nature of the free spin amount adds some flair to the game. Wild symbols that hit on the middle reels during Free Spins are sticky, remaining there for the rest of the bonus.

You can also spend 100x your base spin to trigger the Free Spins bonus automatically.

Royal Free Spins are triggerable by spending 500x your base spin value. In Royal Free Spins, the only major change is that wild symbols have random multipliers of 10x or 20x.

The Dog House: Royal Hunt has a respin feature that makes the bonus slightly easier to hit than the game’s predecessor. If the bonus symbols on screen can move down one position on the reels without exiting the screen, they will trigger a respin of the reels without a bonus symbol, potentially landing another symbol and launching the Free Spins bonus.

What’s Different From The Original Game?

Pragmatic Play’s The Dog House is Royal Hunt’s predecessor. In the original game, most of the mechanics are the same. The changes in Royal Hunt are mostly cosmetic, with the regal pastiche thrown onto the characters (think crowns, scepters, and other themed garb).

Other than the aesthetic changes, the only difference in the original game is that it lacks a respin feature. This means The Dog House: Royal Hunt gives you a slightly higher chance of hitting the Free Spins bonus.
