New online gambling firm Anaxi, the real money gaming division of Aristocrat Gaming, has announced it will launch US online casino games through a partnership with BetMGM.
The company’s games will be available to the four markets where BetMGM operates online gambling. Anaxi Executive Vice President Cath Burns said in a statement:
“We are thrilled to be collaborating with BetMGM as Anaxi reimagines the world’s greatest gaming content online. This is the first content release for Anaxi, and we look forward to continuing to innovate and create online gaming experiences that entertain our partners and players.”
Plenty of money up for grabs in BetMGM’s US online casino markets
BetMGM runs online gaming in four states, all of which will soon be home to Anaxi online gaming titles:
- Michigan
- New Jersey
- Pennsylvania
- West Virginia
The Michigan online casino market alone generates around $150 million in revenue each month. And, among the 14 online gambling operators in the state, BetMGM generates the most revenue. In December, it captured around 33% of the market, and earned nearly twice as much as runner-up FanDuel, according to PlayMichigan.com.
The total revenue numbers for New Jersey online casinos are nearly identical to Michigan’s. And, in December, BetMGM’s online casino earned more than $40 million in revenue. However, unlike Michigan, the NJ online casino market is much more competitive.
Resorts Atlantic City and Golden Nugget Atlantic City’s revenue numbers have hovered between $1 million and $10 million away from BetMGM’s casino partner, Borgata, according to PlayNJ.com.
The company’s operations in Pennsylvania and West Virginia aren’t quite as lucrative. BetMGM’s revenue lags far behind DraftKings and FanDuel in Pennsylvania. While the West Virginia market revenue is considerably smaller than BetMGM’s other three states.
Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s chief revenue officer, said the company is honored to be the first operator in North America to offer Anaxi games.
“Partnering with Anaxi to provide some of Aristocrat’s most iconic games supports our goal of making BetMGM online casino the best destination for players.”
US launch comes a year after announcing Anaxi development
In February 2022, Aristocrat Gaming said it was starting a real-money gaming division. In October, it announced the new company would be called “Anaxi.”
The purpose of the new division was to bring Aristocrat’s world-class gaming to the online casino space. At the time, Aristocrat’s mega-popular slots titles like Buffalo Link and Dragon Link bolstered their reputation. It also had an online gaming branch, Pixel United, that offered free-to-play mobile games.
However, the company did not have a real-money online gaming division. As part of its Anaxi build, Aristocrat bought Roxor Gaming, a real-money gaming supplier. This acquisition helped Anaxi boost its gaming library.
The company planned to debut its games in two markets by late 2022, so it missed its target by about six weeks. Nonetheless, Anaxi’s growth from an idea at the beginning of 2022 to signing an MGM deal this month is impressive.
