Michigan online casino players can get a taste of Japan through a new partnership between Caesars Entertainment (NASDAQ: CZR) and AvatarUX.
The two companies announced that AvatarUX launched KokeshiPop, a Japan-themed slots game, on Caesars’ Michigan online casino. The launch marks the first time AvatarUX has operated in the United States.
Who is AvatarUX?
AvatarUX made its first foray into North America in October 2022 when it signed a contract to provide iGaming titles to Light & Wonder’s Canadian market.
The company is releasing only one title in Michigan for the time being. However, it has a full library of games it can tap into as it expands its offerings through Caesars Palace Online Casino.
KokeshiPop, the online slots game that’s now live in Michigan, launched in late 2022. It has a max win of 10,000 times a player’s bet and was built in partnership with well-known developer Light & Wonder (NASDAQ: LNW). The game is available for desktop and mobile devices.
KokeshiPop is indicative of AvatarUX’s library: bright, lively animations and big bonuses for players.
Matthew Sunderland, a senior vice president at Caesars, said KokeshiPop’s vibrant gameplay is exactly what Caears is looking for.
“We’re pleased to be the first operator in the U.S. to bring AvatarUX’s content exclusively to our players, starting with KokeshiPop,” Sunderland said. “This exciting launch falls in line with our goal of offering fresh and innovative content to our players across our iGaming platforms.”
How AvatarUX can help Caesars
As Sunderland pointed out, Caesars is happy to welcome new games. Part of what makes an online casino operator successful is variety:
- How many online slots games does it offer?
- Does it provide players with well-known titles?
- Are there games that feature recognizable brands?
- How often does the operator release new games?
The fight to bring the best and brightest game library is important in Michigan. The Wolverine State is the biggest online casino market in the country. In 2023, 15 online casinos in Michigan generated $1.92 billion in revenue, according to PlayMichigan.
Adding AvatarUX’s game library to its lineup ensures Caesars keeps its game library fresh. Also, it provides players with captivating games that, in theory, will increase Caesars’ customer retention.
In a press release, AvatarUX CEO Lara Falzon said that her company is “delighted” to work with such a prominent name in the US online casino market:
“KokeshiPop is a proven performer and one of our most exciting, fast-paced…games and we are confident that Caesars customers will love the theme and nature of the title. It’s a landmark moment for AvatarUX, and one we will look to use as a launchpad to further our growth in North America.”
