Bally’s Corp. will soon stop taking bets from players located in most of the company’s markets because of an ongoing transitions to a new platform.
Namely, Bally’s Corp. announced it is temporarily suspending Bally Bet services in three states:
- Iowa
- New York
- Indiana
Bally’s said members in Arizona are currently not affected by these changes. The gambling company advised everyone else to withdraw their funds by June 30. That’s when Bally’s will deactivate all players’ accounts and start preparing for a relaunch of its app, announced for later this year.
The transition comes as Bally’s shifts to the Kambi platform. It results from multi-year agreements Bally signed with Kambi Group plc and White Hat Gaming in May. Under the agreement, Bally’s revealed it would integrate its online sports betting with Kambi’s products and solutions.
June 30 is the deadline to withdraw funds
As Bally’s announced, players must withdraw their funds no later than June 30. There is no minimum amount for withdrawals required.
As the company stated on its website:
“Over the next few months, we will be working hard to elevate your betting experience.
We are grateful for your loyalty and look forward to unveiling our enhanced online sportsbook upon our return later this year.
As of June 30, 2023, you will no longer be able to access your Bally Bet account. In preparation for this, functionality will also be reduced in the coming days.”
Bally Bet has not accepted any wagers or deposits from June 22.
Players must download the new Bally Bet app
Once Bally Bet returns, players will have to download the new app later this year. In the meantime, all existing accounts will be shut down.
Any balance remaining will be mailed to the users’ listed address and paid via physical check.
No funds can be transferred from existing to new accounts. Players will eventually have to create new accounts on a future Bally Bet app.
Bally’s also stated:
“We are already working hard behind the scenes on the new Bally Bet. As soon as we are back, we will be in touch.”
New Jersey players not affected; Massachusetts on hold
Bally‘s temporary shutdown will not affect New Jersey online casino players’ accounts. Bally Casino NJ will remain operational while Bally’s Corp. restarts its digital sportsbooks in other states.
Meanwhile, players in Massachusetts will have to prolong their wait for Bally Bet Sportsbook to launch in their state. Due to Bally’s transition to Kambi, it’s unlikely that Bally’s sportsbook app will launch in Massachusetts until late 2023 at the earliest. And once it does, it will face fierce competition like DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars.
