After Michigan, DraftKings’ Electric Poker expands to Pennsylvania
Since launch, the in-house-built sit-and-go poker game has received positive customer engagement in Michigan. Due to the game’s good performance, DraftKings expanded it to online casino players in Pennsylvania.
According to an email that PlayUSA received from DraftKings, Vice President of iGaming Marketing and Operations at DraftKings, Jason March, said:
“Electric Poker is one of many innovative games on DraftKings Casino, which houses exclusive products that players can’t get anywhere else.
“After positive feedback from our players in Michigan, we are thrilled to expand our Electric Poker offerings to our customers in Pennsylvania, delivering them a best-in-class online poker experience.”
DraftKings Casino has a substantial selection of table games and online slots powered by top software suppliers. It provides a regulated and engaging gaming experience featuring more than 500 games.
DraftKings Casino is available in five US online casino states. Including Pennsylvania and Michigan, DraftKings is present in New Jersey and West Virginia.
What is DraftKings Casino Electric Poker?
Electric Poker is based on standard No Limit Texas Hold ’em rules. According to the company’s press release, the game has a DraftKings twist, including:
- A randomly generated prize pool based on the prize multiplier
- Two-minute blind levels
- A special electric mode feature
Electric Poker is a tournament-style poker game with a “modern look” featuring sharp graphics and visuals that take traditional poker to a new dimension of “competitive play.”
Eligible players physically present in Michigan and now Pennsylvania who register to play will be matched with other poker players for the game. The game also allows users to pick from different buy-in levels, ranging from $1.00 to $25.00.
The game includes prize multipliers up to 10,000x, meaning players could win up to $250,000.
Other states could join DraftKings’ Electric Poker offering
It is uncertain which states could be next on DraftKings’ list to offer players Electric Poker.
States like New Jersey and West Virginia are members of the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA), so in theory, they should be able to join Michigan and Pennsylvania. Other states that are members of the MSIGA are Delaware and Nevada.
While West Virginia is a member of the agreement, it has no online poker sites.
Pennsylvania is still not a member of MSIGA, but after years of trying, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is taking steps to join the MSIGA. Once Keystone State becomes a participant, licensed online poker operators can combine their player pools with those from other member states.
Pennsylvania online casino players can access online poker games at BetMGM, Borgata, PokerStars, and WSOP, with BetRivers soon joining that list.
