According to a press release from White Hat Studios, the custom games produced especially for Jackpocket online casino include three table games that use a random number generator to determine the outcomes of plays. That differentiates them from live dealer versions of table games.
The release states that the games consist of adaptations of White Hat’s “American Roulette, Blackjack, and Blackjack Player’s Choice titles.” In addition, White Hat has applied the Megaways branding to an exclusive slot game for Jackpocket.
Jackpocket online casino is currently only available in New Jersey. Jackpocket also offers a lottery ticket courier service in New Jersey in addition to 15 other states, Puerto Rico and Washington, DC.
That broad reach when it comes to lottery sales made Jackpocket an attractive acquisition target for DraftKings. In turn, that investment could continue to improve the online casino product for New Jersey residents.
DraftKings investment could spur further development of online casino app
For DraftKings, acquiring Jackpocket checked several boxes at the same time. It was an instant way to grow the larger company’s customer base. That gave DraftKings new opportunities to try to cross-sell Jackpocket lottery customers on its daily fantasy sports, horse racing, online casino, and sports betting products.
That was especially important for DraftKings (NASDAQ: DKNG) in places like Texas where online casino and online sports betting remain illegal. Should that ever change, DraftKings could pull from its roster of both fantasy sports and Jackpocket players to try out the other products.
Furthermore, the Jackpocket acquisition helped DraftKings diversify its revenue streams. Lottery sales are far less volatile for gambling companies than sports bets. For Jackpocket, having a company with those diverse assets behind the app is a positive.
DraftKings has been among the most aggressive companies in terms of acquiring former online casino competitors, preceding this acquisition with a purchase of Golden Nugget online casino. The acquisition is a perhaps expensive but direct path to building market share.
To increase that market share in New Jersey, this may be just the beginning of new features and games to come to Jackpocket online casino since the DraftKings buyout. For New Jersey online casino players, though, having new games to try is nothing new.
