Even the best responsible gambling measures are only as effective as gamblers are aware of them. To address that element of the situation, BetMGM has announced a new initiative to increase awareness across its US gambling verticals.

The new campaign, which begins next week, will incorporate all of the ways that BetMGM comes into contact with players. To create the necessary content, BetMGM collaborated with an organization at the forefront of providing resources for people to play responsibly.

BetMGM will use several channels to promote awareness

According to a Friday press release, BetMGM has issued “a new pledge to prominently feature responsible gaming messages in its marketing and advertising campaigns beginning Mar. 1.” The release states that will include multiple touchpoints, like:

  • The BetMGM app
  • BetMGM ads on billboards, television, print publications, and radio
  • BetMGM’s social media accounts
  • Signage at physical BetMGM sportsbooks

Adam Greenblatt, BetMGM CEO said:

“We are committed to leading the industry in promoting responsible gaming, which is why we’re announcing this unprecedented pledge to spotlight responsible gaming messaging in our advertising. As the legalized sports betting and online gaming industry continues to expand, it is vital that we not only equip players with tools and resources for how to play in a responsible and safe manner, but that we also make a significant commitment to showcasing responsible gaming in our advertising.”

BetMGM’s expertise in connecting with gamblers is legitimate. And considering BetMGM Casino is among the top revenue earners in the US, it enlisted some assistance in creating this content.

GameSense assists BetMGM’s responsible gambling campaign

GameSense, a Massachusetts-based organization, calls itself “an innovative and comprehensive responsible gaming strategy.” BetMGM says it collaborated with GameSense to create all the content for its upcoming push.

This integration will provide BetMGM users with:

  • Tools for setting spending limits
  • Explanations of different types of gambling
  • Resources for users to connect with trained advisors
  • Education on myths connected to gambling

The best way to combat a pathological gambling issue is to never develop one but that can be difficult without the requisite knowledge. BetMGM is putting more effort into ensuring gamblers have access to that information.
