SweepX initially launches in the US sweepstakes casino market
The sweepstakes casino market gained popularity in 2020 due to the pandemic and has continued to grow. According to GiG’s press release, SweepX combines:
- GiG’s successful real-money online casino platform technology, currently present in the US, Europe and Latin America
- Bespoke sweepstakes back office
- AI-assisted gamification layer
- GiG’s casino content library, labeled “comprehensive,” supporting immediate growth throughout the emerging US sweepstakes market.
Andrew Cochrane, chief business officer at GiG Platform & Sportsbook, said in a press release:
“GiG is synonymous with innovation and our SweepX solution is the result of our tireless pursuit of excellence for product innovation across the online sweepstake market.
As an extremely experienced turnkey solutions provider, the strength inherent in our technology and services has allowed us to develop what we consider to be the leading platform, data and AI driven solutions available within social gaming, and will help power the growth of the market across the US within the next few years.”
GiG’s platform to help Primero break into the online sweepstakes market
With over 50,000 sweepstakes machines in the US, Primero Games specializes in developing innovative casino software and equipment for the gaming industry. Primero owns Storm Games Ltd, a UK retail operator and content studio.
The collaboration with GiG will see Primero power its extensive player database to expand into the online sweepstakes casino market rapidly. Barry Rutherford, CEO at Primero, commented:
“GiG’s world-class platform will allow us to bring more content and an experience for our players that is second to none. Combining our unique player acquisition strategy and GiG’s innovative technology, we are positioned perfectly for the US market and for iGaming markets across the globe.”
GiG reported record revenue results for Q1 2024
GiG recently released its Q1 2024 results, revealing a 52% revenue growth year-over-year to $39.3 million, of which 21% was organic growth.
Last year, the company announced plans to divide its two business sectors: GiG Media and Platform and Sportsbook. It’s been a talked-about process since February 2023, with the final split expected in the third quarter of 2024.
The company operates in many US online casinos and sports betting jurisdictions. When Crab Sports’ online sports betting app went live in Maryland last year, GiG’s sports betting platform was its operational tool.
With iGaming Cloud Inc. as its operator partner, Crab Sports launched in July 2023 as the state’s 11th mobile sportsbook.
Hard Rock Bet is perhaps one of the biggest US gaming brands using GiG’s software, with over 400 online casino games from NetEnt, IGT and Evolution.
In 2021, GiG signed a long-term agreement with PlayStar Casino to enter New Jersey. The agreement was also extended to cover the growing Pennsylvanian market.
