This fall, Harrah’s New Orleans will rebrand itself to become Caesars New Orleans, but the transformation to make the property one of the best US casinos is about far more than just a name change. Caesars is putting $325 million behind the remodel, including a new World Series of Poker Room.

Caesars will also incorporate a sportsbook adjacent to the poker room to diversify playing options.

On July 11, Caesars gave players a first look at what the poker room and sportsbook will look like.

Harrah’s New Orleans casino getting a facelift

According to a Monday press release, the World Series of Poker Room at Harrah’s (soon to be Caesars) will cover 5,000 square feet. Players will have access to 20 poker tables and tableside beverage service.

“The World Series of Poker brand represents the ultimate poker experience and it’s only fitting we open a poker room that matches its legacy,” said Harrah’s General Manager Sami Mowad.

“We’ll accomplish this by providing a best-in-class place for players to enjoy our games while generating a competitive buzz that builds camaraderie and creates a thrilling sense of victory for our winners.”

The release says the poker room will offer several varieties of live poker. The popular Louisiana casino plans to offer weekly tournaments on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.

Hours for the poker room will be 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. For the rest of the week, the poker room will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 a.m.

Once players are ready to cash out their chips, they can take their winnings just a few feet away to the new sportsbook if they wish.

Retail sportsbook will be even larger in New Orleans

Caesars says this new Louisiana sportsbook will encompass 5,700 square feet. Betting amenities will encompass four windows and 12 self-service kiosks. Seating will be available for 140, including private “fan caves” that guests can reserve. The bar will accommodate a further 28 people.

Perhaps the most visually striking aspect of the sportsbook will be a 147-foot video screen, however. Caesars also says that the sportsbook will feature a,

“State-of-the-art, high-powered audio system.”

With these elements, Harrah’s New Orleans will be ready to compete for local entertainment dollars.
