California lottery player wins the $1.7 billion Powerball jackpot
A California lottery player just hit the $1.7 billion Powerball jackpot on Oct 11. The winning numbers were 22, 24, 40, 52, 64 and the Powerball 10.
The jackpot had grown to a staggering $1.73 billion due to numerous consecutive drawings without a big winner. The previous big win occurred on July 19 in California and was worth $1.08 billion after 39 drawings without a jackpot winner.
Wednesday’s jackpot was the second-highest in Powerball history. The first was the $2.04 billion Powerball won by a player in California in November last year.
