The streak is over.

After becoming the first state in the country to have four consecutive months of $200 million in online casino revenue, Pennsylvania’s iGaming market finished June with $195.6 million. This marks the first time that revenue dipped below $200 million since January.

Key takeaways

  • Pennslyvania online casinos generated $195.6 million in revenue this past month.
  • Revenue was down nearly $20 million compared to May 2024.
  • Year-on-year, revenue rose more than $30 million.

Strong annual revenue numbers balance out June disappointment

All but four Pennsylvania online casinos saw revenue decline month-on-month. Valley Forge bore the brunt of the fall—its revenue tumbled nearly $10 million compared to PA’s May 2024 gaming revenue.

Other casinos that struggled included Mohegan (down nearly 30%) and Bally’s (down more than 18%).

PA online casinos’ yearly numbers continue double-digit performance

While Pennsylvania’s streak of four straight $200 million months ended, another streak stayed alive. For the fifth consecutive time, online casino revenue increased at least 18% year-on-year.

January$189,302,559$160,341,33018.06%

Looking ahead to the rest of the summer, it’s possible that we could see revenue dip below $190 million next month based on growth data from 2023. However, that should be the last time we see revenue stay under $200 million this year.

Revenue should rise sharply in August, followed by another sharp uptick in September. Based on what we know about the PA online casino market, we could see the state break the national iGaming revenue record in December.

March 2024 revenue for Pennsylvania online casinos was a record $233.1 million. If December’s annual revenue growth can maintain the 18% minimum we’ve seen so far this year, a $240-million-month is a real possibility.
