Scientific Games is taking its offerings up a notch as it plans to develop new “Jurassic Park” and “Jurrasic World”-themed digital and retail lottery games for customers in the US and Canada.

This first-of-its-kind creation will be made possible through a multi-year collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences.

Key takeaways

  • Scientific Games and Universal Products & Experiences collaborate to create new “Jurassic Park” and “Jurassic World” lottery games.
  • This new initiative targets players in the US and Canada.
  • The “Jurassic World” theme can potentially build the customer base, creating more revenue for all parties involved.

‘Jurassic World’ is one of the highest-grossing films worldwide

Michael Crichton‘s novel “Jurassic Park” laid the groundwork for a science fiction franchise that captivated audiences worldwide. The story began in 1990 when Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment secured the rights to the unpublished book.

The original film’s 3D re-release in 2013 reignited the franchise’s spark, paving the way for a new trilogy starting with “Jurassic World” in 2015.

This blockbuster installment made history, breaking the $500 million mark globally on its opening weekend. Ultimately it earned over $1.6 billion worldwide, securing its place as one of the highest-grossing films.

In a Scientific Games press statement, Senior Vice President of Instant Game Strategy & Licensing for Scientific Games, Kyle Rogers said the new offering will be a different ball game. Hence, as they thrill players, the games will undoubtedly improve their customer base.

“Our creative teams have been working with Universal on a powerful portfolio of new Jurassic World-themed lottery products that are truly going to capture players’ attention and have them on the hunt to experience the brand in multiple channels of play.

This is a cross-generational brand that has the potential to bring its massive 30+-year fanbase to the lottery.”

‘Jurassic World’ takes center stage in lottery industry

This no doubt is a noteworthy development in the lottery industry. It will leverage the popularity of the “Jurassic World” franchise to create a unique gaming experience.

Still on the rave around the new offering, the “Jurassic World” franchise will debut at the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries conference, Sept. 9-12.

And as part of this reveal, they are announcing “Jurassic World” as their next blockbuster lottery-linked game.

2007 marked a turning point for Scientific Games, as they pioneered Linked Games winners’ events and changed the face of the lottery industry forever. Today, the company has produced 981 million Linked Game instant tickets for US lotteries, boasting a retail value of over $6 billion.

From this partnership, the game will unite trip winners from across the country for an all-expenses-paid journey to Hawaii, where “Jurassic Park” was brought to life. But the excitement doesn’t stop there—players will also have the opportunity to win cash prizes.

Scientific Games’ winning streak continues

Scientific Games has been up and about giving wings to its services. For example, it has recently secured a contract extension with the Arizona Lottery to upgrade its gaming system.

Scientific Games is the undisputed champion of licensed branded games in the lottery world. It boasts a portfolio of over 100 household names that pop up in digital and retail games everywhere.

And the numbers don’t lie—in 2023, their branded games raked in $2.8 billion in retail sales for US lotteries alone. But that’s not all—this gaming heavyweight also supplies high-end tech, analytics, and expertise to 150 lotteries across 50 countries, including almost every major player in North America.
