Light & Wonder recently announced acquiring a B2B supplier license from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) to go live with its Playzido brand in the state.
This marks a milestone for the company, as it plans a significant expansion in North America. With this license, Light & Wonder will bring new games to Michigan online casino customers.
Playzido promises spontaneity to its Michigan online casino users
Playzido’s entry into Michigan will also benefit other operators in the state, as they will have access to new studios that have never been live in the United States, as well as new content created using its own Remote Gaming Server (RGS) technology.
In May 2022, Playzido, a content creation platform and game provider, was acquired by Light & Wonder after agreeing with the brand for “exclusive distribution” in Europe and North America.
Its platform technology is styled to accommodate creative independent studio operators and is also all-encompassing, as it powers every game type, jackpot and multiplayer game.
As Playzido launches in Michigan, players may look forward to playing various online casino games. The first releases through this platform will include:
- Charlie’s Angels™ by Atlantic Digital
- Diamond Multiplier Respin™ by Pixiu Gaming
- Blazing 777 2x3x5x™ by Light & Wonder
In addition to its reputation as a content creation platform, Playzido also engages in game development, with one of its most notable branded games being “Deal or No Deal.” Some of these include:
- Deal or No Deal Jackpot
- Deal or No Deal Red Box Streak
- Deal or No Deal Bankers Riches
- Deal or No Deal Rapid Round
Dana Jackel, head of US commercial iGaming, said in a Light & Wonder news release:
“This new license for Playzido in Michigan is a significant moment for us in terms of creation and delivering content that truly appeals to players in the state. Playzido’s platform is rightly regarded as one of the industry’s strongest and has already enjoyed enormous success in Europe.
Everyone at Light & Wonder is ecstatic to harness the Playzido technology to bring next-level studios and games to our operator partners and players in Michigan to enjoy.”
Light & Wonder plans to extend its reach
Light & Wonder has been actively involved in various initiatives that have increased the company’s prominence in the gaming industry. Lately, it has garnered attention for several partnerships and licensing deals, including:
- Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment licensing deal expansion in July
- British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC)’s Ruyi Baccarat’s game exclusive rights to launch deal in August
- Oregon Lottery supply deal in February
- The Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort partnership in May
- Swiss Grand Casino Luzern in May
In the meantime, Q2 financials from Light & Wonder demonstrated a 20% year-on-year growth in total revenue, reaching a total of $731 million. Considering the company’s recent strategic alliances and expansion into new markets, there is a strong possibility that Q3 will also show favorable growth.
