BetMGM’s downtown Cincinnati retail sportsbook has finally found its permanent home.
The leading sports betting company announced the BetMGM Sportsbook at The Banks is open for business around three months after the company revealed plans to move from Great American Ball Park.
BetMGM didn’t mention that the move was planned before 2023 when it announced the transition from the stadium to The Banks. In a BetMGM press release, CRO Matt Prevost said this was the plan all along:
“When we were putting together our plans for Ohio prior to our January launch, building the premier sports and entertainment venue at The Banks was an integral part of delivering the BetMGM experience in The Buckeye State. We are thrilled to see this vision become a reality marking our next big next step in growing our relationship with the city of Cincinnati and the Reds.”
The Banks is a multi-use development that includes apartments, shopping, and restaurants. It’s located across the street from Great American Ball Park.
New BetMGM Sportsbook features seating for more than 200
BetMGM Sportsbook at The Banks is a full-service facility offering:
- Three in-person betting windows
- 14 self-service betting kiosks
- More than 200 seats
- 350-foot video wall
- 42 televisions
- A VIP lounge with a private bar and high-end dining
The location’s hours of operation are:
- Open until midnight on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
- Open until 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
The BetMGM Sportsbook at Great American Ball Park will remain open through the fall, the company said. BetMGM is the Reds’ official sports betting partner.
“Moving the BetMGM Sportsbook to The Banks places this best-in-class operator into the heart of our city’s sports and entertainment district,” Cincinnati Reds CFO Doug Healey said. “The popularity of the BetMGM brand will help draw patrons to The Banks and add to the vibrancy of our downtown.”
Nation Kitchen & Bar to open later this year
This summer, BetMGM said that The Banks sportsbook would include a Nation Kitchen & Bar, a local restaurant chain featuring food representing the city.
Per the latest press release from BetMGM, the restaurant plans are still in the works. The company said the sportsbook launch is Phase 1, and the restaurant opening is part of a subsequent phase that will finish at the end of December.
“We are thrilled about the addition of the BetMGM Sportsbook at The Banks,” The Banks Marketing Director Tracy Scwegmann said. “With the Bengals season starting and the Reds making a push to playoffs, The Banks continues to be the #1 entertainment destination in Cincinnati.”
