A single $2 wager on a New Jersey online slot has produced the largest jackpot payout in Hard Rock Bet Online Casino history. Rose M. of Linden became the fourth player to win the operator’s Mega Jackpot since it launched in April, taking home $2,949,857.40 after her Aug. 14 spin on Long Xing Da Da, a White Hat Studios game.

Her prize surpassed the previous record of $2,097,043.30, set on the Fourth of July, by $852,814.10. Just under six weeks separated the two record-setting wins, both claimed through Hard Rock Bet’s four-tier progressive jackpot slot system in New Jersey.

A glitch, then a drive to Atlantic City

Rose was playing at home when the jackpot notification appeared, but she initially dismissed it. She was in the middle of another spin when the alert popped up, and she only suspected something unusual had happened after noticing her balance had increased.

“When I saw my balance increase, I thought there was a glitch,” she said, according to a news release.

Her first call was to her sister. Rose then drove to Atlantic City that same night to confirm the win was genuine.

She said the money would allow her to help people close to her who are going through a difficult stretch. She also plans to return to school for a master’s degree without worrying about student loans. As a personal reward, she said she would like to visit Greece.

Four players have now claimed jackpots since April

Rose’s payout marks the fourth time the New Jersey Mega Jackpot has produced a winner since its April launch.

Deborah S. of South Plainfield claimed the first prize, worth $1,942,272.47, on May 11. A second player won $1,937,382.05 in early June, although Hard Rock Bet did not disclose that winner’s identity.

The Fourth of July winner then became the first Mega Jackpot winner to clear $2 million, taking home $2,097,043.30. Rose’s $2,949,857.40 payout has now reset the record.

Four jackpot tiers span thousands of eligble online slots

Hard Rock Bet operates four progressive jackpot slot tiers in its New Jersey online casino: Mini, Minor, Major and Mega.

The tiers are available across thousands of eligible real-money slots. Players opt in by adding $0.10 to their base bet, giving every qualifying spin a random chance to trigger any of the four tiers.

Bet size does not change the odds of hitting a tier. A $1 spin and a $20 spin have the same chance of triggering a jackpot, provided the opt-in feature is active.

NJ’s higher seed supports bigger online casino jackpots

New Jersey is not the only state where Hard Rock Bet’s Mega Jackpot is available. Michigan has its own version, but it operates with a smaller starting jackpot.

Michigan’s Mega Jackpot seeds at $5,000, compared with $100,000 in New Jersey. Hard Rock Bet says the lower starting point means the Michigan jackpot pays out more often while building to smaller totals. New Jersey’s higher seed allows its Mega pool to climb into seven figures before a winner claims it.

Players can opt in for the next Mega Jackpot

The New Jersey Mega Jackpot has already reset to its $100,000 seed and is building again. Existing Hard Rock Bet account holders can open the mobile app or log in on desktop, select an eligible game and activate the jackpot opt-in.

New online casino players can sign up, deposit as little as $10 and claim the new-player bonus without a promo code. They can then select an eligible title and activate the jackpot opt-in, putting all four tiers in play with each qualifying spin.

Players must be at least 21 years old and physically located in New Jersey to participate.
