Belmont Park is scheduled to reopen on Friday, Sept. 18, after three years of construction, with the New York Racing Association now detailing ticket prices, pass options, and attendance limits for the return.
The reopening weekend will include race days on Sept. 18, Sept. 19, and Sept. 20, with additional racing beginning again on Sept. 24. For racing fans and bettors planning a visit, the biggest immediate date is Aug. 27 at 10 a.m., when Sept. 18 general admission tickets go on sale at NewBelmont.com.
Opening day tickets and fall pricing
General admission for reopening day costs $50. According to NYRA, that includes food and drink options and a commemorative program.
General admission for Sept. 19 and Sept. 20 is priced at $10 and includes a program. Starting Thursday, Sept. 24, general admission will cost $7 in advance and $10 on race day.
NYRA also announced several multi-day options for the fall meet:
- Fall Meet Pass: $185 for 45 race days
- Fall Weekender Pass: $99 for 24 weekend days from Sept. 19 to Dec. 6
- Superfecta Flex Pass: $20 for admission to four race days
Kevin Quinn, NYRA vice president of sales and hospitality, said the association created a range of admission and seating options at different price points for fans.
Capacity will stay limited while construction continues
Belmont Park will operate at a 6,000-person capacity for opening weekend. Beginning Sept. 24, that limit will drop to 4,000 as construction work continues.
The Sept. 18 card will feature races leading up to the Jockey Club Gold Cup. The winning horse in that race earns a berth in the Breeders’ Cup Classic, giving the reopening weekend added significance on the racing calendar.
Fans who do not attend in person will still be able to follow one of the headline events from home. FOX is set to air the Jockey Club Gold Cup as part of a “Belmont Park: Return to Racing” broadcast from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
