As the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaches, BetMGM has unveiled a major promotional campaign centered on the US men’s national team.
The sportsbook’s headline offer, Goal Rush, awards a share of $500,000 in bonus bets every time the United States scores during the tournament. The promotion is part of a broader World Cup campaign that also includes Tim Howard-themed games, early payout offers, a Marriott Bonvoy sweepstakes and nationwide fan events.
Goal Rush awards $500,000 for every USMNT goal
Eligible customers who place a qualifying pregame straight bet of at least $5 on a US men’s national team World Cup match can receive a share of a $500,000 bonus bet pool for every US goal scored. Wagers must be placed using a Goal Rush promotional token and meet minimum odds requirements.
Bonus bets expire after seven days and cannot be withdrawn as cash. The sportsbook promotion is unavailable in Ontario and Puerto Rico.
The potential value of the offer is substantial. During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the United States scored three goals. Under the current promotion, that total would have triggered $1.5 million in bonus bets.
“BetMGM is built around delivering legendary moments, and there is no bigger stage in soccer than the World’s Game,” Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost said.
Tim Howard headlines free-to-play and casino offerings
Former US goalkeeper Tim Howard plays a central role in BetMGM’s World Cup campaign.
Beginning June 11, customers can participate in “Tim Howard’s Penalty Kick Shootout,” a daily free-to-play game available through the BetMGM Sportsbook app. Players who score against a virtual version of Howard can win rewards including bonus bets, odds boosts and same-game parlay boosts.
BetMGM Casino has also launched two Howard-themed games: “Tim Howard’s Goal Line Fortune Pick” and “Tim Howard Goalie Gold X Up.” The titles are available in jurisdictions where BetMGM offers online casino games, including Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Howard remains one of the most recognizable figures in US soccer history, earning 121 appearances for the national team and setting a World Cup record for an American goalkeeper with 16 saves against Belgium in 2014.
Early payouts, sweepstakes and expanded betting markets
BetMGM’s popular 2-Up Early Payout promotion will run throughout the World Cup.
Customers who place a qualifying pregame straight match result wager will receive an early payout if their selected team takes a two-goal lead at any point in the match, regardless of the final result. The offer is unavailable in Nevada, Ontario, Pennsylvania and Puerto Rico.
The operator has also partnered with Marriott Bonvoy on a World Cup sweepstakes. Customers who link eligible accounts and place qualifying wagers can earn entries for a chance to win a VIP trip to New York City, including access to Sports Illustrated’s Beyond the Pitch Party, travel accommodations, dining experiences and Marriott Bonvoy points. Entries are open through June 21, with winners selected weekly.
For bettors seeking additional options, BetMGM says it will offer more than 300 betting markets on every World Cup match, along with in-play wagering, same-game parlays and enhanced wager-tracking tools.
World Cup watch parties and responsible gambling
BetMGM retail sportsbooks will host watch parties throughout the tournament, while local pub activations across the country will feature giveaways and fan experiences tied to US matches.
The company also continues to promote responsible gambling through GameSense, a program developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corp. and licensed to MGM Resorts International. The platform provides educational resources and responsible gambling tools across BetMGM’s digital products.
With a $500,000-per-goal bonus bet promotion, Tim Howard-themed gaming experiences and nationwide fan activations, BetMGM is making one of its largest pushes yet around a single sporting event as North America prepares to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
