BetMGM’s new Traitors real money slot is live in New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, timed to Thursday’s NBC premiere of the spinoff.
BetMGM has a new entry in its real money slots lineup, and it is built entirely on lying to your friends.
Fitting for a slot named after a show where the whole game is deciding who gets voted out for betraying everybody else.
The Traitors Faithful Riches went live Thursday at BetMGM Casino in New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, as well as Borgata Online in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. That covers every state where BetMGM currently runs a real-money online casino in the US. The timing was not an accident.
The launch coincided with the Sept. 17 television premiere of “The Traitors: New Blood,” which brings a new cast of 22 civilians to the franchise in pursuit of a prize worth up to $250,000.
BetMGM’s newest real-money slot picks a familiar villain
The title plays on the show’s own split. Traitors plot in secret. Faithfuls try to catch them before the prize money runs out.
The Traitors Faithful Riches runs on a 5×4 reel layout with 1,024 ways to win. Games Global developed the game under an exclusive license agreement between BetMGM and All3Media International, part of Banijay Entertainment.
The real-money slot brings the show’s themes of secret alliances, hidden rewards and betrayal to the reels. The Traitors Bonus, bonus spins and The Traitor Feature provide the main bonus action, with The Traitor Feature randomly revealing cash prizes and potential multipliers.
Oliver Bartlett, senior vice president of gaming at BetMGM, said in a press release that the show’s “blend of suspense and strategy” provides a strong foundation for an online slot.
“Television and movie IP is a key pillar of our content strategy, and our partnership with All3Media International gives us an opportunity to build a lasting iGaming franchise,” Bartlett said.
BetMGM’s second reality TV slot deal this year
This is not the operator’s first trip to reality television for online casino games this year.
BetMGM cut a similar deal in March, partnering with developer Jogo Global and Banijay Rights to secure exclusive rights to “Survivor”-themed online casino games, marketing and promotional initiatives. The companies said they would co-create a minimum of 10 games together.
The “Survivor” partnership and “The Traitors” agreement involve different developers and Banijay businesses, but the playbook reads the same: license a hit television franchise, hand it to a studio to build exclusive casino content, ship the first title to land on premiere night.
Under the new “The Traitors” agreement, BetMGM holds exclusive rights to develop slots, table games and non-traditional casino games based on the franchise. The operator said additional titles are planned across multiple gameplay experiences. Terms of the licensing agreement were not disclosed.
For players in New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, The Traitors Faithful Riches is available at the BetMGM app and website, playable at real money stakes alongside an existing library of more than 7,000 games.
“Survivor” got its franchise deal in March. “The Traitors” got one this week.
