A Powerball ticket sold in California won $673,023 in Saturday’s drawing after matching five white balls but missing the Powerball, according to the California State Lottery.
The ticket was sold at Gold Ranch Lottery, 1 Gold Ranch Road in Floriston.
No one hit the jackpot, so the top prize rises to an estimated $131 million for the next drawing, with an estimated cash value of about $56.8 million.
Winning ticket sold near Sacramento
The six-figure California ticket was purchased at Gold Ranch Lottery in Floriston, a community about 110 miles northeast of Sacramento.
The winning numbers for the drawing were 18, 56, 62, 65 and 67. The Powerball was 18, and the Power Play multiplier was 2x.
Because the California ticket matched five numbers but not the Powerball, it fell short of the jackpot but still produced a substantial prize.
A player in Georgia also won $1 million in the drawing.
What happened in the drawing overall
More than 560,000 other Powerball tickets sold across the US won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, including nearly 60,000 winning tickets in California.
The Powerball jackpot was last won on Aug. 12, when a player in Illinois hit a $1.04 billion prize.
