Calvin Anderson joined an exclusive group of poker players last week, winning his eighth career World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet after topping a 363-entry field in the WSOP Online $777 No-Limit Hold’em Lucky 7’s event.
The victory earned Anderson $48,914 and made him just the 12th player in WSOP history to capture eight bracelets, tying him with poker stars Daniel Negreanu and Nick Schulman.
Phil Hellmuth leads the all-time bracelet standings with 17, followed by Phil Ivey (11); Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan and Erik Seidel (10 each); and Shaun Deeb, Michael Mizrachi, Benny Glaser and Johnny Moss (nine each).
Anderson’s unusual road to online poker glory
According to PokerNews, Anderson began the online poker tournament while playing slots at Resorts World in Las Vegas. As he advanced deeper into the event, he headed home and completed his winning run on a laptop.
Anderson dominated the final stages, taking control during three-handed play before entering the heads-up showdown with a commanding 50-to-1 chip advantage.
The victory marked his third WSOP bracelet of 2026, following wins in the $10,000 Limit Razz Championship and $10,000 Limit H.O.R.S.E. Championship over the summer.
