Catawba Two Kings Casino has launched a new free-to-play social casino, Catawba Two Kings Slots, in partnership with Ruby Seven Studios.
The new social casino features more than 100 online slots from top-rated providers, including AGS, Aruze, Everi, IGT and Konami. The selection also includes several of the most popular slot machines found at the physical casino.
Casino leadership highlights strategy behind launch
Trent Troxel, vice president of the Catawba Nation Gaming Authority, said Catawba Two Kings Slots offers players hours of entertainment while keeping them engaged with the casino when they are off property.
“As we prepare to begin moving next spring from our temporary casino to our $1 billion casino resort currently under construction, we wanted to complement our on-site guest experience with a seamless social casino,” Troxel said.
Troxel added that working with Ruby Seven Studios has supported the casino’s growth strategy. “Partnering with Ruby Seven Studios has allowed us to create a free-to-play online gaming experience for our existing players while also attracting new ones,” he said in an Indian Gaming news post.
Rory Shanahan, general manager of Ruby Seven Studios, said the company is proud to partner with Catawba Two Kings Casino.
“Catawba Two Kings Casino promises to become one of the top gaming destinations in the Southeast, and we are excited to add it to our growing portfolio of leading casino partners leveraging our social casino development and operational expertise,” Shanahan said.
The new Catawba Two Kings Slots social casino is intended for entertainment purposes only. While players cannot win real money, they can make in-app purchases to enhance their gaming experience. The casino is accessible via desktop browsers and on mobile devices through iOS and Android apps.
Why social casinos are reshaping online gaming
The decision to launch a social casino reflects a broader strategy increasingly adopted by tribal gaming operators to extend their brands beyond the casino floor.
Social casinos allow operators to keep players engaged between visits, reinforce brand loyalty and introduce new customers to their gaming offerings without the regulatory hurdles associated with real-money online casinos. By offering a free-to-play experience, casinos can remain connected with players while gathering insights into player preferences and behavior.
The social casino segment, a relatively new part of the iGaming industry, is currently valued at $9.24 billion and is the fastest-growing segment, with annual growth of about 15%.
While social casinos operate with fewer regulatory constraints in most states, the sector has begun to attract increased scrutiny. Several state governments have started examining the model more closely, raising questions about consumer protections and monetization practices.
For operators like Catawba Two Kings Casino, however, social casinos represent a way to complement the on-site experience — keeping players engaged with the brand as the casino prepares for its next phase of growth.
