According to the numbers reported by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), Pennsylvania online casinos hit $166.9 million in gross revenue for December.
This new record-breaking performance surpassed the state’s previous record of $155.9 million set in November.
With such excellent performance, PA casinos brought an incredible $5.2 billion in total revenue for 2022. It is the second-highest US market, behind only Nevada.
December 2022 revenue numbers for Pennsylvania gambling
As the PGCB reported, the combined total revenue generated from all gaming forms during December 2022 was $474,956,990.
That’s an increase of 16.89% compared to revenue generated in December 2021. And, it was the highest monthly total so far.
Here’s how much December 2022 revenue each gaming category brought in:
- Retail slots revenue: $198,027,545
- Online slot revenue: $91,582,151
- Retail table games revenue: $81,655,998
- Sports betting revenue: $54,624,271
- Online table games revenue: $40,362,643
- Video gaming terminals revenue: $3,331,328
- Fantasy contests revenue: $2,739,563
- Online poker revenue: $2,633,491
Which were the most profitable Pennsylvania casinos?
Out of 18 Pennsylvania casinos, Hollywood Casino at Penn National saw the highest numbers in December 2022. It generated $74.9 million last month.
Valley Forge Casino Resort followed with $64.6 million. Next was Parx Casino, with $54.6 million in revenue from December 2022.
Parx Casino leads in slots revenue
Parx Casino was the leader in slots revenue for December 2022 with $32,758,115.
Rivers Casino Pittsburgh followed with $22,858,675 and Wind Creek Bethlehem with $22,088,114.
Wind Creek Bethlehem commands retail table games
Wind Creek Bethlehem brought in the most money for retail table games with $20,025,422.
Parx Casino was next with $15,802,417. And Rivers Casino Philadelphia came in third with $8,848,631 for December 2022 revenue.
Online gambling revenue rocks at Hollywood Casino
When it comes to Pennsylvania online casinos, Hollywood Casino at Penn National generated $60,086,397. That was the highest revenue for December 2022.
Rivers Casino followed with $28,538,596 and Valley Forge Casino Resort with $26,857,365.
