Evolution has added Disco Balls to its live gaming portfolio. The live ball-drawing game builds multipliers as the main draw progresses, and those multipliers carry into the bonus round if the qualifying number is drawn.
Inspired by Funky Time, the title pairs a lottery-style ball draw with two bonus stages featuring Mr Funky and total multipliers reaching up to 10,000x. Evolution says the game introduces evolving multipliers to the main game — a departure from most of its game shows, where values climb only after a bonus stage triggers.
Players follow a physical ball draw rather than a prize wheel, with new multiplier opportunities appearing throughout the round. The result is a format that pairs the anticipation of a live draw with the progression mechanics central to modern online casino games.
How Disco Balls rounds actually work
Players can bet on numbers 1 through 20 or cover multiple outcomes with Low (1-10), High (11-20), Even or Odd. Once wagers lock, the Disco Cat distributes multiplier values across the board and assigns either a Disco or VIP Disco bonus symbol to one number.
Multipliers on the cat symbol start at 3x and run to 20x, while ball multipliers fall between 3x and 10x, with another increase possible each time the Disco Cat reappears, according to the game’s rules. Values landing on the same number are added together. A bonus number can also carry a bonus-game multiplier worth up to 25x.
Balls are then drawn one by one. Step balls advance either the red or gold ladder from 5x toward a maximum of 500x, and each one brings the Disco Cat back into play, creating another chance to add multipliers or bonus symbols before a Result ball ends the draw and sets the winning number.
If the Result ball matches the bonus number, every multiplier accumulated during the main game carries into the corresponding bonus round. Everyone can watch the bonus unfold, though participation is limited to players who backed the winning bonus number.
Mr Funky returns on two dance floors
The bonus games build on the format introduced in Funky Time. Mr Funky starts at the center of a virtual dance floor and collects multipliers as he moves until he steps beyond the edge of the board.
Disco uses a 37-square floor; VIP Disco expands to 63 squares, per the game’s rules, giving him more room to keep collecting before he falls off. Combined multipliers across the round are capped at 10,000x.
Evolution introduced Funky Time in May 2023 as its biggest game-show release since Crazy Time, built around a DigiWheel and four bonus games: Bar, Stayin’ Alive, Disco and VIP Disco. Disco Balls keeps the Disco and VIP Disco bonuses but swaps the wheel for a physical ball draw.
Evolution aims to make every round matter
Todd Haushalter, Evolution’s chief product officer, said the studio set out to make the base game as entertaining as the bonus, rather than concentrating the excitement in the bonus features.
He argued that players now expect more from every round, and said Disco Balls answers that by letting potential payouts climb from the second betting closes — a build he described as generating considerable tension. Haushalter called the game “like nothing we have done before,” and said Evolution believes it advances the industry with a new approach to game shows.
The release fits a broader pattern at Evolution, which has spent two decades moving live casino from a single webcam feed toward a full online gambling entertainment category, pairing familiar betting formats with game-show production values.
Evolution did not disclose an RTP range, bet limits or launch operators for Disco Balls. The game released Sept. 9 and is available globally on real-money online casinos through Evolution’s live network, with rollout timing set by individual operators and regulators.
