Hard Rock Bet Pays Out After Live Trivia Glitch
In June, Hard Rock Bet Casino accidentally issued payout prizes to all participants in a Live Trivia session.
On June 25, the platform mistakenly paid out $5,000 prizes to every participant in its free weekly Live Trivia game, which typically runs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
Instead of revoking the unexpected winnings, Hard Rock Bet chose to honor the full $5,000 payouts.
“When made aware of the incorrect Live Trivia payouts, our response was quick and deliberate: the awards stand,” said Hard Rock Bet President Matt Primeaux. “While others may have tried to claw back the $5,000 awards – Hard Rock Bet wants to put our customers first wherever possible, not just when it’s convenient.”
Reminiscent of the viral HQ Trivia app, Hard Rock’s Live Trivia game runs weekly with prize pools starting at $5,000, and sometimes much higher. For example, a special Independence Day edition is offering a $25,000 prize pool this Friday.
Each game features 10 multiple-choice questions delivered by a live host. Players have just seven seconds to lock in an answer before the timer runs out. Those who answer correctly move on — anyone who gets it wrong is eliminated.
Players don’t need a perfect score to win — answering just seven out of 10 questions correctly earns a share of the prize pool. That total is split evenly among all winners. So if 100 players each get seven right on July 4, they’ll walk away with $250 apiece.
