Dust off your party hat, boys and girls. The big day is finally here for Atlantic City, New Jersey.
In just a few short hours, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City and Ocean Resort Casino will finally be officially open for business.
It’s been a few years since the former Trump Taj Mahal and Revel Casino have seen any action and that all changes today. The two shuttered casinos officially emerge from the casino graveyard making the Boardwalk the place to be.
Now technically both casinos soft-opened their respective properties on Wednesday evening. However, all of the opening day festivities will take place today.
What to expect at the Hard Rock
Entertainment is the name of the game, and nobody plays it better than Hard Rock.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, Hard Rock is bringing out the big guns. Carrie Underwood is performing on Friday, June 29, followed by a show with Pitbull on Saturday, June 30 at the Mark G. Etess Arena.
They are even bringing Elvis Presley‘s 1963 Rolls Royce to the party.

Hard Rock also announced the launch of 365 Live. The daily live performances, many of which are free to the public, are designed to encourage passersby to stop and hear the music.
Adam Zengel, Vibe Manager at Hard Rock Atlantic City, said:
“I am incredibly proud of not only the amount of entertainment we are providing but the quality, as well. We worked very hard at crafting an experience unlike any other. Being able to come in from the boardwalk and see the level of artists we have playing without purchasing a ticket, shows our commitment to live entertainment.”
In addition to being entertained, guests will be wined and dined.
Joining the world-famous Hard Rock Cafe are more than 20 restaurants on the property offering a range of options from casual to fine dining.
The 400-seat cafe sits adjacent to the casino floor and will be home to many of the 365 Live performances.
And don’t forget the shiny new slot machines. The 199,657 square foot casino floor will house 2,144 brand-new slot machines and 125 table games. Luxury VIP gambling suites adorned with music memorabilia are available for those looking to uplevel their gamble.
The party gets started at 11:00 a.m. with the world-famous Guitar Smash. Be there or be square.

What to expect at Ocean Resort
Ocean Resort Casino secured its license just in the nick of time in a last-minute special hearing. Now that all the official stuff is out of the way, the property is ready to help its guests “have a ball.”
Ocean Resort has partnered with some of the leading names in hospitality, entertainment, and dining to bring world-class experiences to the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
Visitors to the Boardwalk can swing their way into summer at the largest Topgolf Swing Suite facility in the world. If relaxing is on the menu, guests can catch some rays at the Poseidon Pool & Cabana Club.
The resort will open with 16 dining options, some with a unique twist like Cereal Town, a family restaurant with a wide array of cereals offered all day long.
Hard Rock doesn’t have exclusive rights on entertainment, either. Ocean Resort renovated Ovation Hall, a 5,500-seat entertainment venue to play host to some of the country’s top talent. Ocean Resort is also bringing back one of the few Revel successes — the HQ Outdoor Pool and Nightclub.

Two things Ocean Resort will have that the Hard Rock won’t are a poker room and a sports book.
Sports betting will take place in the middle of the 138,000 square foot casino floor alongside 100 table games and 2,200 casino slots.
Ocean Resort promises “hundreds of games, a robust loyalty program, and private gaming lounges overlooking the ocean.”

Don’t drop the ball and join Ocean Resort on the Boardwalk at 1:00 p.m. for the official ribbon cutting.
Atlantic City is back, baby!
The East Coast gaming mecca is hopeful for a record-setting summer. The new-found optimism comes after the city has suffered years of financial hardship.
Many will see a competition between Hard Rock and Ocean Resort this weekend, but the big winner in this scenario is Atlantic City. Two parties are better than one and the more party, the more visitors.
The two NJ casinos have spent millions, put thousands back to work, jumped through all hoops and have shiny new slot machines ready for the first pull.
Today officially marks the beginning of Atlantic City’s next chapter. Don’t miss it. By the look of things, it is going to be a page-turner!
