Resorts World has awarded $280,000 in grants to 28 nonprofit organizations across New York through its “A Day of Giving” initiative, expanding its original commitment to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Originally announced as a $250,000 initiative benefiting 25 organizations, the program grew after Resorts World New York City, Resorts World Hudson Valley and Resorts World Catskills each added an additional $10,000 grant. The expanded effort increased total funding to $280,000 and the number of recipients to 28.
More than 400 nonprofits applied statewide
More than 400 nonprofit organizations submitted applications during the statewide open call. Winners were selected through a random drawing across three regions served by Resorts World’s New York properties.
The grants were distributed among 16 organizations in the New York City region, six in the Hudson Valley, six in the Catskills. Each recipient will receive a $10,000 grant to support programs that strengthen local communities and improve the lives of New Yorkers.
According to Resorts World, the overwhelming response prompted the company to expand the initiative beyond its original commitment, allowing three additional organizations to receive funding.

Resorts World highlights nonprofits’ impact
Robert DeSalvio, president of Genting Americas East, said the initiative recognizes the nonprofit organizations that continue to strengthen communities across New York as the country approaches America’s 250th anniversary.
“These nonprofits represent the very best of New York,” DeSalvio said. “They work every day to create opportunities, provide essential services and improve the lives of others. We are proud to support their missions and the lasting impact they have on our communities.”
Building on the RW Gives legacy
The grants are part of Resorts World’s RW Gives program, the company’s long-running charitable initiative launched in 2011. Through RW Gives, Resorts World has donated millions of dollars to hundreds of nonprofit organizations while also matching employee charitable contributions dollar for dollar.
Beyond its philanthropic programs, Resorts World’s New York operations have contributed more than $5 billion to the state’s public education fund since opening in 2011.
Resorts World “A Day of Giving” reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to investing in the communities where it operates by supporting organizations that provide meaningful services and create lasting positive change across New York.
