Scientific Games has launched its newest multistate lottery promotion, bringing three of America’s best-known television game shows to scratch-off, Fast Play and digital lottery games. The promotion, called the Game Show Experience, debuted last week in four markets, with nine more set to join by Dec. 1.
Alongside instant prizes, players across all 13 US jurisdictions will compete for trips to Los Angeles and a share of a prize pool worth up to $10 million.
A familiar lineup of TV brands heads to lottery tickets
The Game Show Experience is built around three licensed television franchises that have entertained US audiences for decades.
- The Price Is Right anchors the lineup as the country’s longest-running game show, having aired for more than 50 years while earning multiple Emmy Awards.
- Family Feud celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026 and currently attracts about 7.5 million daily viewers.
- Press Your Luck, the third franchise, brings its signature mix of strategy and chance.
Scientific Games developed the promotion in partnership with Fremantle, the production company behind all three shows. The games are available through scratch-off tickets, Fast Play instants and digital lottery products, giving participating lotteries flexibility in how they introduce the promotion across retail and online channels.
The Iowa Lottery, South Carolina Education Lottery, Tennessee Education Lottery and Maryland Lottery were the first to launch the promotion. Players should check their state’s official lottery website to see if they can purchase lottery tickets online.
South Dakota, Texas, Arkansas, Delaware, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, Kansas, Illinois and Maine are scheduled to join before the rollout wraps up. Scientific Games said additional lotteries may participate in the future.
Lottery officials highlight more than traditional cash prizes
Lottery officials in the first launch markets say the promotion offers players something beyond a standard instant game.
Kassandra Trenary, the Iowa Lottery’s director of marketing and advertising, said the promotion combines a familiar entertainment brand with an experiential prize that extends beyond the usual instant-ticket winnings. She said Iowa was pleased to be among the first lotteries to offer the experience.
South Carolina has added its own local incentive alongside the national promotion. In addition to the scratch-off game and its allocation of four Game Show Experience finalists, the South Carolina Education Lottery will also host a state-exclusive Showcase Showdown, giving nine additional players the chance to win prizes worth up to $26,000.
Product Director Scott Warner said the television franchise’s long-standing popularity made it a natural fit for the state’s players.
Two prize paths lead to the Los Angeles finale
The promotion offers two ways to win. The first is the standard instant prizes available through the scratch-off games, Fast Play and digital games; as with other lottery instant games, prize amounts vary by state.
Players who don’t win instantly can enter eligible non-winning tickets into a second-chance drawing.
More than 100 winners will receive five-day, four-night trips to Los Angeles in fall 2027, where they’ll attend a taping of The Price Is Right before returning to the same soundstage for an exclusive Game Show Experience event reserved for lottery winners.
The finalist who advances furthest in the closing round will have their winnings matched dollar for dollar, with that matched amount divided equally among the remaining trip winners — the format behind the promotion’s up-to-$10-million prize pool.
Tina Hoover, Scientific Games’ vice president of licensing, said the early response reflects the enduring appeal of the three television franchises. She said the company plans to keep expanding its portfolio of licensed games built around recognizable entertainment brands that resonate with lottery players.
Building on a long-running lottery strategy
The Game Show Experience extends a promotional format Scientific Games has run since 2007, when it introduced the concept of lottery Linked Games.
Earlier editions carried themes tied to Deal or No Deal, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and, most recently, Game of Thrones, whose winners attended a themed event at a Napa Valley, California, winery. Rebranded as SG Signature Linked Games, these promotions have generated more than $7 billion in combined retail sales over nearly two decades.
According to the Scientific Games press release, the company’s next linked-game promotion is already scheduled: a Jurassic World-themed game will culminate this fall with a winners’ event in Hawaii, held near filming locations from the original Jurassic Park movie.
Scientific Games supplies retail and digital lottery games, technology and analytics to approximately 150 lotteries in 50 countries and manages a licensing portfolio of more than 100 entertainment brands.
