Prediction markets continue to expand across nearly every imaginable category, and this past week on Kalshi provided a perfect example of that range. From the race for AI supremacy and NASA’s lunar timeline to early 2027 Oscars bets, Masters week action, and a competitive Texas Senate race, traders are putting real money behind their expectations.

The volume and diversity across these markets show how quickly prediction trading is evolving—not just as a niche product, but as a real-time reflection of public sentiment regarding the future.

Claude leads AI supremacy race

AI remains one of the most significant technological developments of the century. As the race for the most capable model intensifies, traders are betting on which system will claim the top spot in 2026. Rankings are determined by a leading industry benchmark site that subjects models to various performance tests.

Currently, Claude leads with a 54% implied probability, followed by Gemini at 30% and ChatGPT at 10%. With more than $2.5 million in total volume, this trade underscores the massive interest in the sector.

Tracking the Artemis II aftermath

NASA’s Artemis II mission recently launched to orbit the moon, setting the stage for a permanent lunar presence. While the next phase is officially scheduled for 2028, traders on Kalshi are skeptical of the timeline due to potential technical delays. Only 8% of traders believe NASA will land on the moon before 2028.

However, optimism grows over a longer horizon: 40% expect a landing before 2029, and 54% believe it will happen before 2030. Given the momentum of Artemis II, the lunar market has become a focal point for investors this week.

Early 2027 Best Picture contenders

The 2026 Academy Awards concluded less than a month ago, but traders are already looking toward 2027. With over $100,000 in volume, the market is growing rapidly despite most films being unreleased. Of the top three contenders, only Project Hail Mary has hit theaters, earning critical acclaim.

The other two, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Wild Horse Nine, are among the most anticipated releases of 2026. The Odyssey, featuring a star-studded cast, currently holds a 33% implied probability of winning Best Picture.

Masters volume hits $122M milestone

There is no week in sports quite like Masters week at Augusta National. For the Masters Champion market, Scottie Scheffler leads with a 14% implied probability. Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau follow as top contenders.

This is currently the most active trade on the platform, with thousands of dollars flowing in every minute. Total volume sits at $122 million and is expected to surge when the tournament begins Thursday.

Talarico challenges the Texas stronghold

Finally, we look at the Lone Star State ahead of the November elections. Despite Texas’s reputation as a Republican stronghold, Kalshi traders are monitoring a surprisingly competitive outlook. While the Republican Party has yet to solidify its candidate, Democrats have rallied behind James Talarico, who is performing well in early sentiment.

Talarico currently holds a 42% implied probability of winning, while the Republican Party sits at 58%. Though the election is 200 days away, the $2 million in volume suggests this will be one of the most-watched political markets of the year.
