The year 2026 is already a landmark period for prediction markets. Between record-breaking volume during the Super Bowl and the Grammys, and high-stakes drama in nearly every sector, it is difficult to believe we are only two months into the new year.

This week, we track new developments regarding the Federal Reserve chair, Bitcoin’s volatility, and the ongoing tug-of-war between Paramount and Netflix.

The Fed chair race: Can Shelton overtake Warsh?

For the second consecutive week, the “Judy Community” is rallying around rumors that Judy Shelton still has a path to defeat Kevin Warsh for the Federal Reserve chair. Although President Trump named Warsh as his nominee on Jan. 30, 2026, some traders speculate the president may reverse his decision.

Shelton’s probability on Kalshi has edged up to 5% from 4% last week. Meanwhile, unverified rumors have circulated among traders regarding Warsh’s alleged appearance in the Epstein files, leading to speculation of a potential withdrawal. While these claims remain unconfirmed, the market has seen over $195 million in volume as traders hedge their bets on the outcome.

March Madness outlook: Michigan leads championship odds

As the NFL season concludes, sports fans and traders are shifting their focus to the hardwood. March Madness is approaching, and the market for the NCAA men’s champion is heating up, hitting the trending page this week with more than $32 million in volume on Kalshi.

Michigan currently leads the market with a 22% probability. Duke follows at 19%, while Arizona holds third place at 14%. While Michigan has maintained a steady lead since the season began, Duke has recently gained significant traction. With the tournament still ahead, the market remains fluid leading up to the championship game on April 6, 2026.

Bitcoin $150k forecast: Traders retreat as prices stall

Bitcoin is weathering a difficult start to the year. After reaching $120,000 in October, the cryptocurrency has plummeted to $68,000. The “When Will Bitcoin Hit 150k?” market—once a favorite with over $27 million in volume—has become a “ghost town” for serious bulls.

In October, traders placed a 62% probability on Bitcoin hitting the $150,000 mark before June 2026. That probability has now cratered to 5%. While some remain optimistic about a long-term recovery, the current sentiment suggests many traders are sitting this one out.

iPhone 18 release rumors: A possible split-launch strategy?

Despite the iPhone 18 being months away, early traders are already active. The market currently shows $127,000 in volume, focused largely on “before October 2026” and “before 2027” contracts.

While Apple historically favors September launches, leaks suggest a possible split-release strategy for 2026. Rumors indicate Apple may release the iPhone 18 Pro models in late 2026 but delay the base models until 2027. What once looked like a safe bet for a fall release now feels like a coin toss for traders.

Netflix vs. Paramount: Political maneuvering at the White House

The corporate battle between Netflix and Paramount for Warner Bros. Discovery has reached a fever pitch. Following Paramount CEO David Ellison’s appearance at the State of the Union address, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos is scheduled to meet with President Trump at the White House on Feb. 26.

Paramount currently holds a 56% probability on Kalshi to win the current dispute, but the high-level meetings suggest the tide could turn. With both sides currently viewed by many as a 50/50 split, the “behind-the-scenes” developments in Washington will likely dictate the next market swing.

Navigating a volatile Q1 in prediction markets

As we move deeper into the first quarter, these markets prove that volatility remains the only constant in 2026. Whether through shifting political appointments or surprising tech cycles, the coming weeks will likely redefine the leaderboard for traders and enthusiasts alike.
