State of Play’s TL;DR

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery said the two Mega Millions winning tickets were sold at Tobacco 4-Less #2 in Batesville and Quick Shop in Jonesboro. The winning numbers for the Tuesday draw were 25, 37, 59, 68 and 70, with Mega Ball 10.
Each ticket is worth $30,000, and both prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the draw date, according to the Lottery. Friday night’s Mega Millions jackpot is at $743 million.
There was also a second-chance drawing winner. Jamie W. of Hot Spring County collected $400,000 in the June 18 Play It Again drawing after entering non-winning instant tickets through The Club, the lottery’s members program.
Jamie said in the release:
“I was in disbelief at first. I started getting weak in the knees!”
His wife added, “He was up all night after that!”
Jamie told the Lottery that his biggest previous win had been $500. He also said, “I was telling my buddies for a long time, ‘I’m going to win the lottery,’” while his wife responded, “You’re lucky!”
Next second-chance drawing is Oct. 8
The two $30,000 Mega Millions tickets are still outstanding, and Arkansas players in second-chance promotions can enter eligible non-winning instant tickets through The Club for future drawings. The next Play It Again second-chance drawing is scheduled for Oct. 8, with a top prize of $250,000.
The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery also used the release to highlight its broader financial totals. Since 2009, it says it has sold more than $8.6 billion in tickets and returned more than $1.6 billion for scholarships.
As of June 30, the lottery said it had awarded more than $5.8 billion in prizes, paid $487 million in retailer commissions and generated $461 million in state and federal tax revenue.
The Arkansas Department of Higher Education has distributed more than 873,000 scholarships using lottery proceeds.
