Maryland’s six casinos generated $157.72 million in revenue from slot machines and table games during November, according to state regulators. The figure represents a 3.5% drop (or $565 million less) compared to November 2022 and a 1.31% decrease from October 2023.
Maryland Lottery and Gaming is responsible for regulatory oversight of the state’s casinos. The agency issues a separate report for the state’s retail and online sports betting.
November was the third-lowest month of 2023 for casino revenue
March, April and July remain the strongest for Maryland casino gaming revenue, while November is among the state’s weakest months.

Despite seeing a slight rise in Maryland’s October gaming revenue compared to September, the November revenue figure is a 1.31% monthly decrease.
Half of Maryland’s casinos show yearly progress in revenue
Three Maryland casinos reported yearly revenue increases:
- Live! Casino & Hotel made $58,030,400, a 1.6% annual growth
- Ocean Downs Casino generated $7,066,674, a 7% annual increase from last year
- Hollywood Casino made $6,818,038, a 0.1% increase from November 2022
The other three that showed revenues drop from last year are:
- MGM National Harbor generated $66,641,884 in November, a 6.9% yearly decrease
- Horseshoe Casino collected $14,600,437, a 10.6% decrease from November 2022
- Rocky Gap Casino made $4,561,060, a 6.5% annual decrease
Four out of six Maryland casinos saw monthly revenue drop from October. Despite showing an annual increase in gaming revenue, Ocean Downs Casino experienced the most notable monthly drop:
- Ocean Downs Casino: 14.12% monthly decrease
- Rocky Gap Casino: 7.27% monthly drop
- Horseshoe Casino Baltimore: 1.83% monthly drop
- MGM National Harbor: 0.97% monthly drop
The only two Maryland casinos with monthly progress in gaming revenue were Live! Casino & Hotel (0.42%) and Hollywood Casino Perryville (1.60%).
State contributions in November dropped monthly and yearly
Maryland casino gaming contributions to the state in November totaled $66,150,282. The number is a 2.3% drop from November 2022 and a 1.64% monthly decrease from October 2023.
According to the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control’s November report contributions to the Education Trust Fund was $47,727,562, a 3.1% decrease compared to November 2022. Funds from Maryland casino gaming revenues also go towards:
- The communities and jurisdictions in which the casinos are located
- The state’s horse racing industry
- Small, minority-and women-owned businesses
