The New York Racing Association (NYRA) revealed its 2024 racing schedule, with 195 live race days at Aqueduct Racetrack and Saratoga Race Course. As previously announced, the ongoing construction at Belmont Park will require significant adjustments to the customary NYRA schedule.
Therefore, fall and spring/summer meets traditionally held at Belmont will occur at Aqueduct Racetrack in 2024. If all goes according to plan, all downstate racing will be conducted at Belmont Park starting in 2026 or 2027.
The Saratoga Race Course will host the 4-day 2024 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival from June 6-9, with the Belmont Stakes taking place on June 8. Saratoga will also be the traditional 40-day summer meet site from mid-July to Labor Day.

47-day Aqueduct winter meet
After the conclusion of the 2023 Aqueduct fall meet on Dec. 31, the 47-day winter meet began on Jan. 1 and will last until Mar. 30. Live racing lasts Thursday-Sunday for the first three weeks of January and Friday-Sunday from Jan. 26 through the first week of March.
Aqueduct will host a Presidents’ Day card on Feb. 19. Four-day race weeks resume on Mar. 7.
Aqueduct spring meet and Belmont Big A spring/summer meet
The 16-day Aqueduct spring meet will run from Apr. 4 until Apr. 28. The NYRA circuit will then remain at Aqueduct for the Belmont at the Big A spring/summer meet, which was usually held at Belmont.
That meet will last from May 2 until July 7. Racing will be conducted Thursday-Sunday throughout the spring/summer except for a Memorial Day program scheduled for May 27.
40-day summer meet
The 40-day summer meet at Saratoga Race Course will open on July 11 and continue through Labor Day, Sept. 2. Following the four-day opening weekend, live racing will be conducted Wednesday-Sunday except for closing week, which will conclude on Labor Day, Sept. 2.
Belmont Big A fall meet and Aqueduct fall meet
The NYRA circuit returns downstate for the 31-day Belmont at the Big A fall meet, starting Sept. 13 and will continue through Nov. 3. Apart from the opening weekend, racing will be conducted Thursday-Sunday throughout the Belmont at the Big A fall meet.
2024 will end with a 26-day fall meet at Aqueduct Racetrack, which will open on Nov. 7 and run until Dec. 29. Apart from the closing week, live racing will be conducted Thursday-Sunday throughout the Aqueduct fall meet.
