Online gambling technology provider Playtech has taken the next step toward expanding its US footprint by recently continuing its partnership with betPARX in Maryland.
Playtech will provide betPARX with its IMS platform as well as its native online applications, according to the new agreement, which was announced Sept. 18. As a result of the collaboration, betPARX’s sports betting customers will have access to Playtech’s advanced technology.
Matthew Cullen, senior vice president of interactive gaming and sports, said in a betPARX news release the company was looking forward to the continued alliance with Playtech.
“We are excited to extend our partnership with Playtech for the launch in Maryland. Playtech’s state-of-the-art technology provides us with the tools and capabilities needed to deliver an exceptional and engaging betting experience to our customers in the state.”
BetPARX benefits from Maryland’s sports betting market
With a 5.4% increase in online sports betting handle in August, betPARX’s online sportsbook will be joining a booming industry in Maryland. A total of $264 million was gambled on sports in the state, primarily Major League Baseball, thanks to the success of the Baltimore Orioles.
Additionally, betPARX offers its Maryland consumers a variety of betting options, including:
- Teasers
- Futures
- Parlays
- Prop bets
- Live betting
However, it will be joining already existing competitors in the state, including BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings and FanDuel, to provide services to Maryland bettors.
Jonathan Doubilet, vice president of Playtech’s US business operations, said he is “confident” that their services will result in an incredible sports betting experience for Maryland bettors:
“We are elated to continue our partnership with betPARX for their Maryland launch. This collaboration underscores our commitment to providing our operators with advanced technology that not only powers their platforms but also enhances the overall player experience.
Following the successful debut in Ohio, we are confident that our innovative solutions will once again deliver an unmatched sports betting experience in Maryland.”
BetPARX expands its presence across North America
BetPARX has been steadily extending its reach across North America, as this partnership marks its fifth state. In February, the operator also launched in Ohio through a partnership with the PGA Tour.
Early in March, the sportsbook operator also struck a partnership with EveryMatrix, a leading iGaming platform provider.
BetPARX has also succeeded in gaining access to other states like New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Playtech has also been diversifying its reach across various continents. Just this year, it has secured partnership deals with:
- Canadian online betting operator NorthStar Gaming
- Swedish betting operator 10bet
- European bookmaker Betfred
- Hard Rock Digital
- And most recently with supplier IDVerse, a digital ID verification company
