It’s Playtech season.
The UK-based gaming supplier announced it has closed a deal with US gaming giant Rush Street Interactive to bring its games to RSI online casinos in three states, Canada, and Mexico.
The deal includes integrating Playtech live-studio games into RSI’s BetRivers Casino platform.
Key takeaways
- Playtech (LSE: PTEC) will offer its online casino and live-action games via Rush Street Interactive (NYSE: RSI) platforms in three states, also Canada and Mexico.
- The partnership is part of Playtech’s plan to expand in North America.
- Playtech’s RSI deal is one of many over the past year.
Partnership is already paying dividends in the biggest iGaming markets
Some partnership announcements happen weeks or months ahead of launches, but not so with Playtech and RSI. BetRivers online casinos in New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania already offer table games, slots, and gameshows streamed from Playtech’s live studios.
A quick launch in those states is critical, as the trio represents more than $550 million in monthly online casino revenue. For example, in July, the three states combined for just over $602 million:
- Pennsylvania: $215.3 million
- New Jersey: $195.4 million
- Michigan: $191.4 million
In a press release, RSI SCEO Richard Schwartz said the company was “very pleased” to announce its relationship with Playtech:
“At RSI, we are proud to deliver innovative industry-leading online entertainment experiences to our players,” he said.
“The addition of this casino content from Playtech will further our efforts to become a leading online operator across the Americas.”
Playtech COO Shimon Akad said the RSI deal is part of the company’s plan to expand in the North American online casino market.
“Our partnership with RSI, one of the most respected casino operators across the Americas, is going from strength to strength, and we’re delighted to be working alongside their team to bring our market-leading content to BetRivers players in North America.”
Rush Street news follows busy year for Playtech
Over the past 12 months, Playtech has rolled out several launches.
- June 2024: Launches livestream casino content through two MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas.
- February 2024: Announced that “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?”-branded live games would come to the U.S. online casino market.
- February 2024: Partners with Hard Rock Digital’s New Jersey platform to provide live dealer games.
- December 2023: Pennsylvania becomes the third state to open a Playtech live studio.
- October 2023: Gets rights to “Family Feud” franchise for live gaming.
The press releases should keep coming from Playtech, which shows no signs of slowing its North American expansion. Additionally, the company noted that it plans to expand its presence in Latin America.
