The proliferation of casino content providers from around the globe continues to include select parts of the United States. For people living in a few states with regulated online casinos, that means early access to some of the latest innovations and newest games.

Red Rake Gaming, a Spanish company that produces online slots and other games, has partnered with DraftKings Casino to distribute its content in two US states. While Red Rake is eyeing a third US state, there are opportunities beyond DraftKings for the company.

Red Rake announces DraftKings Casino partnership

A Tuesday press release states that Red Rake has closed a deal to see its “casino games integrated into DraftKings’ platform.” To begin, those games will be available for DraftKings Casino players in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Red Rake has been producing online casino content since 2011. It has licenses in European nations like Greece, Malta, Romania, the United Kingdom, and Ontario.

Red Rake obtained a gaming license in Pennsylvania in September 2023. Its licensure in New Jersey is still pending, however.

In its announcement, Red Rake identified Michigan as an expansion target for its US business. Red Rake has not provided any specific information about whether it has applied for licensure there or what the status of that application is.

Therefore, DraftKings Casino players are the most likely to get a chance to sample Red Rake online slots among US residents. DraftKings may not be the only place where Pennsylvanians can do so for long, however.

Further distribution could be on the horizon

Red Rake’s contract with DraftKings for content distribution is likely not exclusive. The door is probably open for Red Rake to partner with other Pennsylvania online casinos.

DraftKings Casino is a logical choice for an initial partner in the US. It is among the market leaders in New Jersey and data suggest the same in both Michigan and Pennsylvania.

However, most casino content providers new to the US have eventually partnered with many of DraftKings Casino’s competitors. That increases their opportunities to collect revenue on their products.

Alongside the intent to achieve distribution in Michigan and New Jersey, Red Rake likely has ambitions to follow suit with other operators besides DraftKings. Announcements could be forthcoming on similar partnerships.

For DraftKings Casino players in Connecticut and West Virginia, it’s uncertain whether access to Red Rake online slots is forthcoming. Compared to the three aforementioned states, the potential for revenue there is significantly smaller.

For that reason, Red Rake is likely focused on making its online slots some of the most popular games in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania for the time being. That endeavor begins with DraftKings but will likely expand to other online casino brands in the near future.
