For an online casino operator in the United States, a partnership with Light & Wonder can lead to indirect collaborations with a host of game providers. That now includes a new studio based in Malta bringing its slot titles to the US for the first time.
Light & Wonder (NASDAQ:LNW) is now bringing RubyPlay slots to its US partners, although details about exactly which operators in which states could see the games first are scant. Regardless, the partnership should bring new games to US online casino players not only now but in the future as well.
Light & Wonder inks RubyPlay contract
According to a press release from Light & Wonder, it is now the exclusive US online casino content aggregator for RubyPlay. With its base in Malta, RubyPlay has been producing online slots and other games for online casino licensees in Europe for over two decades.
The press release highlights RubyPlay’s Immortal Ways slot game series as an item of particular interest. The games include over 10,000 ways to win including bonus mini-games. Individual titles in the series are among RubyPlay’s most popular games.
However, other titles like the Diamond Explosion series are also set to come to Light & Wonder partners in the US. Those partners include popular real-money online casino apps in multiple states like BetMGM Casino, Caesars Palace online casino, and DraftKings Casino.
At this time, Light & Wonder has not disclosed if any of those operators will get access to the new RubyPlay games before others or whether the games will be available on partners’ apps simultaneously. Light & Wonder has supplier licenses in all of the pertinent US states with legal online casino play like Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
If players on any of the apps don’t find the existing RubyPlay games engaging, it could be worth checking back with the studio’s content at a later date.
RubyPlays online casino games should be a common fixture
The press release mentions that the contract with Light & Wonder also covers future releases of new games by RubyPlay. At this time, RubyPlay lists J Mania Golden Eggs and Mad Hit Wild Alice among upcoming releases.
These relationships benefit all parties involved. For example, each game studio that Light & Wonder works with gets to distribute its games in the US without having to obtain a supplier license in each US jurisdiction. Such licensure can be costly and delay the release of new games in the US.
Light & Wonder builds value for its partners and commands a better price for access to its aggregation platform. The operators of online casinos can stay competitive without having to spend resources on creating new games themselves.
Perhaps most importantly, players get a steady flow of diverse and fresh content. While not every title is going to be a player’s favorite, the volume and constant churn of new games enhance the chance that some of the titles will be popular.
